Glenn Marais
Glenn Marais is a Juno nominated songwriter with an amazing voice and incredible guitar talent that has fans comparing him to a mix of the incredible Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King and Jimi Hendrix, for a unique and blistering tone. His songwriting is full of hooks and grooves and he has the band to back him up. Featuring Manny De Grandis on Bass, Jeff Saulnier on drums, Jesse Karwat on Keys and Nick Bogoeff on Saxophone, The Glenn Marais Band has a killer groove and an amazing live show.
The band came second in the Toronto Blues Society Talent Contest in 2019 and have grown to become festival stand outs with every show they do.
Glenn co-wrote the song Everybody Wants to Be Like You, with the artist, Snow in 2000. Glenn received a Socan #1 award and was nominated for a Juno award in the best songwriting category for Everybody Wants to Be Like You.
The song is the second fastest rising song in Canadian history, reaching the Top Ten and is currently the fifth most-played song in Canadian radio history.
Glenn was the session guitarist for the recording of Snows record, Mind on the Moon featuring Everybody Wants to Be like You at Longview Farm Studios in Brookfield, Massachusetts.
The band's video for Say My Name has over 2 500 000 views on You Tube and has become an anthem for anti-bullying.
In November 2005, Glenn flew to Africa to film a video for his song, Like a Child. It debuted on Much More Music on Jan.30th/2006 and is currently number one on Much More Musics Clip Trip show.
On Sunday Aug.13th /06, the video for Like a Child, debuted at the Rogers Centre Skydome for the Toronto International AIDS Conference. On Friday Aug.18th/06 Glenn Closed conference with a performance of Like a Child in front of 7000 people, broadcast internationally on CBC Newsworld.
Like a Child made it on to the MUSIC MENU POWER PICK TOP TEN PAGE for Canadian Network Magazine
Glenn came second in the 2006 Mix 99.9 Canadian Radio Star Contest, with his entry, Dont Let Your Love Go, which is included in the Like a Child package and the upcoming Alive in the Mud release.
Glenn is an amazing songwriter and performer with a diverse and explosive band that delivers every time
