Bio
The Democracy is a 3-piece Rock band based in Arlington, TX and consists of singer/guitarist Garrett Teal, bass player Kyle “Yogi” Owens, and drummer Brandon “Drumsworth” Brunworth.
Garrett and Yogi had been playing together since 2007 and basically learned their instruments together. The trio was formed in mid-2013 when Yogi met Brandon Brunworth at the University of Texas at Arlington. The three scheduled a jam session and found that they would quickly become friends and complement each other musically. That is when The Democracy came to fruition. The trio prides themselves on developing a fresh style of music assembling Garrett’s catchy riffs and flowing vocal melody, Yogi’s modern and melodically executed bass lines, and Brandon’s unique and “outside-of-the-box” drum style. As The Democracy builds a presence in the music scene, the three are working hard and hopeful for the future.
