THE 413 EFFECT (pronounced "the four-thirteen effect") is the energetic solo project of multi-talented singer/songwriter & National Award-winning vocalist Joseph Hobdy, who has been performing for audiences of all ages and backgrounds for over 20 years with no plans to slow down anytime soon. Whether he is performing solo or assisted by a full band, THE 413 EFFECT knows how to present music that will get people on their feet and dancing to the beat. Additionally, with over 10 years of worship-leading experience under his belt, THE 413 EFFECT sets the stage for the presence of God to freely move.
THE 413 EFFECT's most notable achievements include opening for GRAMMY® Award-nominee Britt Nicole back in 2009, opening for Guinness World Record® holder Brandon Bailey Johnson in 2015, and opening for world-renowned, Billboard chart-topping Gospel artist Dorothy Norwood in 2016. As a vocalist, Hobdy competed in 2017's National Christian Radio Competition, "Sing Your Praise" (presented by Virdition), winning the National Award for BEST MALE VOCALIST. He would also be the only singer from the state of Texas to finish the competition as a National Top 16 FINALIST.
Hobdy officially came onto the scene (as Jh413) in late 2010 with his debut single "I Will" (to be re-released in 2018), and would re-emerge in 2016 as THE 413 EFFECT (abbreviated as T4E) with his single "Only You", an exciting, upbeat worship song filled with catchy melodies, an infectious beat, and anthem-laced lyrics -- "I believe in the promise // I believe in the plans He has for me // Oh, I will succeed!" -- that will have the listener ready to press the 'repeat' button over and over again. Now, T4E boasts that their single also has a lil' funk to it, but hopefully their feet won't be to blame for that.
