The Strip

Once in a while you need to look for the silver lining, the bright side of an otherwise dark time. For a group of Hudson Valley guys, all with a passion for music, the brightest thing to come out of the past five years, yes, even with a global pandemic, is a new band - a band that just happens to be preparing for their first ever gig, right here in the Hudson Valley.
Rewind To 2019
Let's take a trip back to 2019, pre 'end of the world' times when local tattoo artist and owner of The Revenant Gallery in Fishkill, Anthony Mascolino, was doing a tattoo for a guy named Chad. A previous Hudson Valley resident who had recently relocated to STL, Chad and Anthony at the time were both working on music with other bands. During the tattoo appointment, the guys hit it off on the music front so well, would you believe they ended up writing a song together that same day?


During his tattoo we hit it off and I had asked him to come back to my place afterwards to hang out and jam. We had a couple of beers and about an hour later we had accidentally written our first song “make it back”
 

I guess you can say the rest is history, and what we now know as 'The Strip.'
You Heard Em Here, First
Chad obviously had to return back to STL, but kept in contact with Anthony, processing what had come from their impromptu jam session - just two weeks later he flew back to the Hudson Valley and the two got together and released that song they wrote, Make It Back, under the name 'The Strip.'
That tattoo appointment-turned jam session-turned band has since turned into an inseparable bond between the two, who have not let the 1,000 mile distance stop them from creating music.
Funny enough, way back in 2021, WRRV premiered 'The Strip' on one of our new music features, and we've been dropping some of their original songs, and even some badass covers, into our playlists ever since!

2025 Brings Debut Performance Dates For 'The Strip'
Personally, I've kept in touch with Anthony over the years, trying to give a heads up whenever I get the chance to play one of their tracks, tell him about the new tattoo I want to get, or talk about how much I LOVE their cover of Hole's Celebrity Skin....

When I was at the tattoo shop back in October getting some ink, and naturally talking music, Anthony shared that they really wanted to make that jump from a studio band to one you could catch on the road for shows. It was around that time that 'The Strip' were lucky enough to add two new members to the band, almost without any effort!
Their drummer, Jeremiah, was a friend for some time, playing guitar in a few projects but waiting for an opportunity to get behind the kit with a band, and once he tried out, immediately clicked. Not long after, when looking for a bassist, they met what they refer to as the “fourth guitarist” of 'The Strip'
Travis came into the shop to book an appointment, and had told me that he just left Alto Music where he had talked to Jeremiah. He also told me that he was a guitarist but was going to buy a Bass. I showed him some of our music and we got to talking. Next thing you know, he was at practice and very quickly became a part of our little family

That brings us to present day, March 2025, where the four guys are preparing to take the stage for their first official shows as 'The Strip.'
We all clicked so well right off the bat and are boys first & bandmates second. Each one of us brings such a unique perspective and set of skills to the project & together we have built something so special together.
