“If you like folk/country music you will love The Rusty Seesaws! It's got the old-timey vibe from the harmonica and banjo and great harmonies to it! They've got a great beat, sweet lyrics, and wonderful rhythm to their style. The verses are all very well fitting to each other and the chorus. It's a very well put together song that's extremely enjoyable!”” -
“The male/female folk singer combination is one of my favorites, and when done right can produce a truly wonderful sound. The vocals in these songs compliment each other and the melody line in the background. This combination of folk/country instruments with male/female duet makes them sound genuine and very professional. It reminds me of "O Brother, Where Art Thou."” -
“These songs are very relaxing and heart warming. I like the banjo, folk sound. The vocals sound very home-like. They reminds me of childhood and family. I really like the harmonica addition and the banjo is a very nice touch. Talented artist and singer. Great harmony." -
“I love the guitar and the singers and I love the lyrics! I feel like these lyrics speak to me! I love the instruments and the softness of the singers voices. I also like how this song is telling a story about something. Love the beat and tempo of their music” -
“Singer/songwriter duo, sweet, slow, folksy. These are all good things. I like the storytelling nature of this song. You care about the characters in the songs the way you care about them in a book. I like the way the harmonica separates stanzas and aids in the storytelling quality. The singers voices work really well together, they are complementary.” -

Bio
The Rusty Seesaws were established in 2015 by 4 students at Virginia Tech. Danny DeVincentis and Kevin Reilly had played music together for several years but didn't perform much in public.....mostly because they didn't have the patience to memorize enough songs from start to finish. Once Danny got a $100 banjo for Christmas they started jamming and were delighted to find out that many bluegrass tunes are just 3-4 chords. Easy to remember! They recruited Erin Maines and Connor Mount on bass and drums and quickly learned dozens of songs. The group has accumulated over 15,000 followers across social media by gigging around the mid-Atlantic, playing anywhere from rowdy bars to frat parties to historic venues.
Highlights of their music are fast clawhammer banjo and guitar, big choruses with tight vocal harmonies, dramatic tempo changes, guitar/harmonica/piano solos to transition between sections of the song and clever lyrics often making a social or political statement. Occasionally, TRS will take an old time song, write new words and make it their own. A great example would be their angsty, ironic and mildly offensive interpretation of "Old Time Religion."
Famous quotes from Fans:
"The Rusty Seesaws sound like Johnny Cash on meth."
"Their music makes you want to get up and dance like an old white guy."
