Bio
This is the project of Eric Escobedo, Darian Costa, Jordan Macapagal, and Antonio Villegas; a garage rock quartet from the Washington Manor neighborhood of San Leandro, California. With all four members growing up within a square mile of each other, the band came about as old friends with a mutual love for music, film, and comedy. Together, they craft a sound that blends the dark, industrial elements of San Leandro's rich history, with a kind of ethereal, carefree nostalgia that recalls the shimmering sunshine sound of Cali's 1960s surf scene. Inspired by artists such as The Beach Boys, The Doors, Pixies, Santana, Ween, and Black Sabbath; they are just as comfortable crafting a rhythmic surf ballad --backed by Latin percussion and Beatlesque harmonies-- as they are in a sludgy, sonic delirium, with quaking bass, wailing fuzz guitars, and exotic organs and synthesizers.
The Mutilations are an experience, a cult defined by oddity and a DIY philosophy; producing their own music videos, demos, and merchandise. Their debut album “Someone Kill Me Please, Lol” and follow up EP “Emotionally Inarticulate” are both out anywhere you can find music.
