TABLEEK is an emcee's emcee. Entrenched as a true and active artist within the worldwide underground hiphop scene, TABLEEK surmises his approach to lyricism in the new millennium saying "..witty, intricate flows that the listener evolves and grows with over time." In sharp contrast to today's trends, TABLEEK has been leader not a follower since day one and strictly abides by the hiphop pillars of not biting, living the culture, independence, street knowledge, and not being unconscious of what has been laid out by his inspirations (Gangstarr, Large Professor, Tribe Called Quest, Kool G Rap, Rakim, etc.).
Initially signing with Head Up/Elektra Records, Tableek spent years refining his style and building a worldwide following with his crew Maspyke (Roddy Rod, Hanif Jamiyl TABLEEK). from 1998-2006 Maspyke dropped two LP's, countless singles and collaborations, and real- not internet imagined- worldwide underground classics including "Step", "Truth In Position", "54th Regiment" and "Played List" and others. With Maspyke Tableek was able to be heard on labels as storied as Om, Rawkus, 7Heads and our own imprint Bukarance Records, with features and write ups in magazines in North America (XXL, Urb, XLR8TR, Stress), Europe (Big Daddy, Hiphop Connection, Straight No Chaser), Japan, and more.
True independence leads to new opportunities, and TABLEEK has created a new venture with a group of handpicked artist called BurntBerry. Under this new umbrella music production, touring, distribution, marketing and design are all under one roof. Continued collaboration with some of the most innovative artists in the US (One Be Lo, Stic Man from Dead Prez, Declaim, Sadat X, Zion I, and more), across Europe and Japan has allowed people to discover TABLEEK in a way previously not seen. His "debut" album Hunting Bald Eagles..and Other Ghetto Tales was the labels first success with two singles reaching #1 on two respected independent radio charts in the US, and a solid dates across Europe to support the project.
TABLEEK's next untitled project was recorded in Amsterdam (Holland) with classically trained piano player and acclaimed House/Dance producer Kid Sublime. The untitled LP will be released summer 2015.
