Bio
Original. Soulful. Tasteful. Genuine. These are the words that come to mind when describing the music of Ronathan Williams.
As a bassist, you hear his influences shine through when he plays. With a playing style reminiscent of the late, great Jaco Pastorius fused with the heavy funk feel of Bootsy Collins with added nuances from Stefan Lessard, Ronathan has a feel on bass like no other. His writing style is influenced from Dave Matthews and George Clinton while his vocal influences come from the Gospel arena. Fuse all of that with strong elements of jazz and you have Ronathan Williams.
As a native of Tampa, Florida, Ronathan found his niche in music while attending Florida State University when he picked up the bass guitar. After building his repertoire and skills, he then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he started his career in music professionally.
Since 2012, Ronathan has played for many bands, mostly out of New Orleans. A few of these bands include Bonerama, Rockin' Dopsie & the Zydeco Twisters, and most notably, he served as the Music Director for the Glen David Andrews Band.
In 2015, Ronathan released his first solo album entitled, "Enigmatic Expressions." It is here on this project where you can hear his influences shine through.
Ronathan Williams presents a live show full of energy and incredible musicianship with a great mix of original music and original arrangements of covers many already know and love.
