I enjoyed "Sleepwalking," and find myself listening to it again and again while I drafted this review. Robin's voice is good and strong, really very lovely and textured, like Melissa Etheridge, fellow Bostonian Shawn Colvin, and maybe even early, early Stevie Nicks (but not as fragile.)
I just wish the melody line allowed her to do more with this unusual voice.
Overall, I think this is nice work, good acoustic sounds for the café listener. I think this singer has more in her, so turn her up in the mix and change up that melody line!

"What I Like is their natural, effortless manner of presenting folksy/acoustic music into a modern/alt rock essence twisted with warmth. The songs come through with intelligence, introspection, and a slight edge. My favorites... "the catchy, rythmic, 'Sleepwalking'. "

Sleepwalking
The guitar pulls you in from the beginning. The longer you listen, the
longer you want to listen. The lead singer's voice is somewhat hypnotic,
she pulls you into their world quite effectively.
The song has a steady beat that belongs on any top forty station. I
enjoyed tapping my fingers to the sound and that didn't go away after
five listens. I then turned my attention to the lyrics themselves and
this is what I found. The lyrics are thought provoking and draw you in.
The chorus had me singing along!
Now, I'm not a musician so I can't tell you the level of the music
itself, but from the listener's point of view, I wasn't disappointed!
Overall, what I found was a professional band on the verge of making a
major push into the arena of pop music. As we all know getting there is
hard enough but staying there is tougher....this
could hit on any Top 40 radio station's playlist!
Check her out, then check her out again!

Went to see Ani DiFranco at Celebrity Theater last night (Sept 24th). What an incredible talent she is. Also deserving some praise - Robin Lore for being an opening act that made the crowd sorry she didnt play longer before Ani came on! - Kevin

Robin Lore is a solo singer/songwriter who currently resides in Southern California. Robin grew up in NY but it was not until she moved to Massachusetts that she developed her style of music. Robin has one of the most unique & engaging voices out there. We were blown away at her range after listening to her track, “I Don’t Know Why.” After hearing this track it is quite obvious that Robin is the real deal. The hook and song structure is perfect. In 2008 Robin was the winner of the 2008 Orange County Music Awards Best Live Female performer. We have yet to see Robin live but we can just picture being in a crowded venue drinking beer or espresso and listening to her sing. Her new CD, ‘Fickle Girl’ is out now. You should also check out the lead single “Fickle Girl.” It is a live record and just like Robin, you can enjoy her music anywhere. After turning her off, you can still hear her contagious voice in your head. That is a good thing!

Bio
Winner of the 2008 Orange County Music Awards Best Live Female performer. Robin has been playing music since she was a toddler. Starting out as drummer, she worked her way to the front of the band, exactly where she belongs, playing guitar and singing her brains out. Her voice is unique, almost haunting at times and her lyrics are both thought provoking and insightful.
She grew up in NY, moved to MA. where she got into a few bands as a drummer. She started playing guitar and writing music about 15 years ago and has been very well received throughout NY, Colorado, New England, TN., AZ., IL, TX, and California.
