Deserving nominees for CMW’s non-existent Best Band Name award, Orangabang includes, I’d wager, some of the best blues guitarists in Uxbridge township. Fans of the Black Keys and White Stripes should appreciate lead singer Geoff Holt’s wavy, almost mournful voice and Dave Mordak’s impressive guitar solos. The band’s only problem is how easy they make it look—no, seriously—because onstage they jam casually, sometimes soullessly, making a play-by-numbers act. It might be their youth betrays their sound; they treat catchy, original, textured songs like “Fledermaus” almost like covers, with a sort of restrained hesitance. These guys are great talents, and if they learn to give themselves up to the crowd a little more and shed that teeming self-consciousness, opening for big-name acts isn’t far away. - Torontoist
Scrabble, chess, black light, air guitar… looks like this would be a wicked house party, if there was anyone there but the band.
Oh wait, there’s also an ape. Some creepy masked dudes showed up too. Now things are picking up. But… what is the ape doing to that guy on the couch? This party just got weird.
Uxbridge, Ontario’s Orangabang are an art collective and band, rolled into one. “Confused Unforced” comes from their The Best of Orangabang EP.
We’re instantly fans of any band that has song titles like “Eschew Obfuscation.” Also of bands that spell out words during their songs. Check out Orangabang’s CMW set on Tuesday, May 5 at the Cameron House (back room) at midnight. - Telescope Media
On Tuesday night, Orangabang, a band from Uxbridge, Ont., took to the Horseshoe stage for the first time. It rocked through songs with provocative titles, such as “Fledermaus” and “Cunning Linguist.” Geoff Holt sings and plays rhythm guitar for Orangabang. “It was our first time playing a show in Toronto,” Holt said. “It was great. The crowd was awesome … [We’ve] never had so many people cheering at the end of a show before.” - The Toronto Observer

Bio
With influence from Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes and Queens of The Stone Age, Orangabang gladly carry the torch of rock into the future. Live performances are a frantic, fast-paced, locomotive of thrashing guitar, wailing vocals, and catchy rock riffs that send any crowd into a frenzy.
Sporting Gorilla outfits, Union Jack onesies or colourful masks, the boys never fail to entertain. Dave Mordak's guitar skills melt faces (we have insurance for this), The Speers' brothers keep things locked down like Fort Knox and it is rumoured that Geoff Holt was raised by lions.
