Nick Gonnering

Blues inspired, soul-infused, folk singer Nick Gonnering, has been playing his way around the Eastern part of the United States for the better part of 2 years now. His fusion of funk and jazz chording compliments his inspiring, reflective lyrics and soulful melodies.

While he is a solo artist, his stylings add rhythmic and percussive elements that at times can sound like a full band and he oftentimes accompanies himself with a looper.

His new album "Wanderings" is an ambient acoustic parabola. Exploring a sonic realm inspired by an Alaskan Sunset over a beautiful shoreline and a hike along a Misty River. This textural instrumental album has undertones of John Butlers “Ocean, and instrumental Zeppelin work (Think "White Summer-Black Mountain Side" and "Bron-y-Aur Stomp"). All while painting a beautiful sonic picture that is at once transformative and peaceful.

His never-ending exploration of the musical world is always feeding his creative side and inspiring new ranges of sounds and techniques which most recently have rooted in Flamenco and Fingerstyle guitar playing.

To add to his diverse musical palette Nick’s yogic journey over the past 12 years has led him into the realm of sound healing and has allowed his writing to work into the vibrations of the human body. During live yoga classes, he uses a custom electronic instrument board to create healing sound-scapes for yoga practitioners to more deeply tune into their practice, while providing sympathetic tuning for the natural vibrations of a healthy body.
