Love and heartbreak is a common experience for everyone and Jessie Phelps, in her most recent single, Well Done, decides to tell us about her own take on it. Phelps is a singer-songwriter who blends indie rock, pop rock, and folk to create a raw and intense sound and this is apparent in Well Done. It's a love and more specifically, heartbreak and how to deal with it. This song starts off as the narrator talks about giving her all in the relationship only for the passionate lyrics to devolve into details of a toxic relationship which the narrator knows isn't going well. In order to gather the strength to leave and prioritize herself the narrator can only say, "well done," as a way of accepting the relationship for what it was.




In her new song “Well Done” Jessie Phelps has taken a more unconventional path to her artistry, drawing inspiration from artists like Aerosmith, Nirvana, and Radiohead. Being a multi instrumentalist, Phelps did all the pre-production herself, recording the vocals, guitars and drums. The song takes on a more alternative rock route and describes her music as, “a little bit of alternative rock with a touch of blues.” Well Done has a dreamy and eclectic landscape that lays beneath Jessie Phelps strong vocals and exciting guitar riffs. She uses these elements to take listeners on a rollercoaster of emotional highs and lows.

Jessie Phelps’s passion for music began at a young age when she first listened to rock and roll and received her first vintage drum kit from her grandfather. From there, she dedicated herself to developing her craft in songwriting and performing. She did this by being part of a variety of bands since 2006 including: Jessie and Amy, The Clams, Ghosts of Kin, and Moxxie. Jessie’s stage presence became a magnetic force of rock and roll. Currently living in London, Phelps has begun working as a composer and dedicating time to her solo career. Jessie Phelps makes herself stand out by crafting a strong and genuine social media presence that she can use to form a genuine connection with her fans. Jessie Phelps embodies the new age spirit in music as an unsigned artist who has paved a lane for herself and she leaves us with the promise of a bright future.
