Fans of Brooks Brown will recognize the name Madi Walsh. The Los Angeles songstress is here with her own EP, composed of five tracks. Self-written and produced, her self-titled EP is a mixture of ambient, trip hop and downtempo. Although she spear-headed this project, she did enlist some features, including James Fransz, Scolo and Jakob Rice. She has a certain genuineness that emanates from both her voice and her production work that instantly make you connect with her art. Currently, you can stream previews of the EP, however, if you want the full listen through, you can purchase on iTunes or find her on Spotify. - YourEDM (by Tyler Trew)
On May 12th of this year, Brooks Brown will be releasing his Sidetracked EP. In light of this fact, the young musician has released the title single for the project, which is a collaboration with the vocalist Madi Walsh. As one of the most talented kids in the game, this EP has been something that I have been readily awaiting for some time now. Even with just a taste of it, my musical desires are satisfied.
His future original is a dreamy escape into lush musical atmospheres full of beautiful tones. His clean synths and enchanting melodies will have your heart throbbing in no time. Top off the the incredible instrumental with a super solid vocal and you have yourself a magical piece of music. Stay tuned for the full Sidetracked project, as the three other tracks are sure to be as captivating as this one. - YourEDM (by Tyler Trew)
17 year old Brooks Brown may be young, but his age has no impact on his delicate, evolving sound. Originally from Tulsa and now based in Leawood, Kansas, Brooks has been active for just over a year, releasing both original tracks and remixes, including his own take on Bastille‘s “Pompeii” and Drake‘s “The Motion”. With a four-song EP entitled Sidetracked due out on May 12th, we bring you the energetic title track.
Featuring Madi Walsh‘s charming vocals, “Sidetracked” highlights both artists abilities in a refined, animate way. As the song grows from its subtle beginning into its high-energy peaks it maintains ground through its mix of trap-based beats and reverb-filled melodies. Once the song fades out, the only question becomes when the two will come together for another entrancing song. - Earmilk
