“The day after his 30th birthday, Hardin County native Shawn Holcomb found himself on stage with his band at a Texas venue playing on a nationally-known rock tour. Like Bridges We Burn, a rock band, played Tuesday at Vans Warped Tour in Dallas, as the result of entering Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands 16. After online voting earned them a spot in the top 100 bands for the Dallas area, Like Bridges We Burn and the other 99 bands went before a panel of judges. “We were one of four bands picked out of the Dallas area to play,” Holcomb said. The Vans Warped Tour travels throughout North America and features scores of bands. Like Bridges We Burn is based in Denton, Texas, which is less than an hour northwest of Dallas. After moving away from Hardin County briefly, Holcomb returned to attend Hardin County Schools until he graduated from Central Hardin High School in 2000. “I started playing guitar when I was 14,” Holcomb said.” - The News-Enterprise By Robert Villanueva

Like Bridges We Burn is an American post-hardcore band from Denton, Texas. Since their formation in the summer of 2010, the band has carved a loyal following and performed at Vans Warped Tour (courtesy of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands) in 2012 and again in 2014. They have shared the stage with A Skylit Drive, Being As An Ocean, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, Nothing More, Jamie's Elsewhere, Oceana, Fever Dreamer, The Almost, A Lot Like Birds, Oh, Sleeper, He is Legend, Maylene & the Sons of Disaster, War of Ages, The Ongoing Concept, Close Your Eyes and Dance Gavin Dance.
In the spring of 2013 Like Bridges We Burn mutually parted ways with former guitarist Shawn Holcomb and former lead singer Jason McKee, and acquired newcomer Jeff Nemec by the end of the summer after conducting a thorough auditions process. Mike Mowery joined not soon after, taking over for Holcomb on guitar. The latest track, ‘Hey Indiana’, unites Like Bridges We Burn once more under the production of Geoff Rockwell with Nemec taking over on lead vocals. The band plans to have an all-new, full-length album by fall of 2014.
LBWB is now on a mission to spread their unique sound and touch as many hearts as possible. The group continues to play heavily throughout north Texas and are working diligently towards expanding their influence, audience, and circle of friends.
