Where are you from?

"Ky Abe is a trio based out of Orange County, CA, consisting of vocalist Ky (me), and producers Theo and Nood."


How did you get started making music?

"Theo and I were making objectively bad songs daily in our 11th grade film class and a little over a year later we decided to take it seriously and put out a few tracks on soundcloud. Theo then met Nood over Xbox and after months of playing together they found out that they both produced music. Nood lived close so we met up and made our first single "Everything Right"


Who are some of your biggest influences?

"Our inspiration list is too long and all over the place, but at the moment mainly Frank Ocean, Daft Punk, Dijon, King Krule, and The Weeknd. "


What're you looking forward to currently?

"Currently we are excited enough that our single "Moons" is out!! We have been holding onto this for over a couple years now so its a good feeling to finally see it out. Our next single is "Nothing Personal" (which hopefully comes out in the next month or 2) which we are dying to drop. We have been releasing music that has been tucked away for a few years so to show the new sounds we have been making is something we are always looking forward to"


What is the story behind your artist name?

"Ky Abe is just my name but we are in fact a three man act!!" - Have Ya Heard

“Ky Abe is a trio from Orange County, California. Our latest single “Moons” is an in your face pop track flooded with synths accompanied by upbeat and hard hitting drums. Delving into the fears of fast changes, as well as finding confidence in such uncomfortablity tends to be the theme throughout the song. Made in 2021, it was released late 2023 as our 5th single. We have been holding on to too much of our music and to change that are releasing our next single in February, and a project this year.” - Faces Playlist

Hailing from Orange County, the trio known as @bykyabe brings together the unique talents of vocalist Ky (22), and producers Theo (22) and Kian (21). Their multicultural backgrounds - Ky's Japanese American heritage, Theo's French origins, and Kian's Persian American roots - have added a rich diversity to their creative journey. Raised in households where musical inclinations were prominent, the trio easily found inspiration to venture into music.
