“Bill Solley is one of the greatest fingerstyle jazz guitarists on the planet” —Bill Piburn
Fingerstyle Jazz Bill Solley and his wife Kim are both natives of New Orleans, Lousiana. They were enjoying great success both as a duo and individually when in 2005, Hurricane Katrina changed their lives forever. With all that they knew being destroyed, they relocated to Houston, Texas. This is a chapter that changed, but could not define, who they are. Kim and Bill continue to tour and perform both in the Houston area and throughout the world. Once I heard their music I could not help but be impressed and moved. Individually and together they have performed with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Nicolas Payton, Kirk Whalum, Arturo Sandoval, and Oleta Adams. They have toured extensively in England, The Netherlands, Japan, Denmark, Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, Germany, and the United States. They are repeat per- formers at the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia. ...Bill Pilburn opening notes in the article. - Fingerstyle 360
They’re both superb musicians. They’re into the kind of modern jazz you don’t hear much in New Orleans. And they’ve got their own way of doing things, to the point where you need to listen for a while to really get into what’s happening.
- Steve Steinberg - writer for Offbeat Magazine
Kim Prevost’s vocals ooze smoky sensuality. She is an inspiring vocal improviser with a delivery both soaring and sultry, and with more than a hint of that special New Orleans flavor. Her range is amazing and her voice insinuates and then soars moving seamlessly from Duke Ellington to Stevie Wonder to Hoagy Carmichael. Meanwhile Bill Solley makes music that jumps and jives and then makes you cry with its pristine beauty. Solley’s musicianship is truly amazing, as he works melody, improvisations and baseline simultaneously with virtuosity and ardor on his trademark 7-string guitar. Their repertoire spans vibrant arrangements of jazz, blues, R&B and gospel favorites, with some lively originals, as well. The results are nothing short of astonishing.

"The kind of chemistry that Prevost & Solley so effortlessly reveal on I Would Give All My Love comes along only once in a blue moon. Think Joe Pass and Ella Fitzgerald in their classic Pablo encounters of the early '70s...with a modernist spin."
- Bill Milkowski - contributing writer for Jazz Times
"Prevost slides effortlessly between elegant, formal jazz vocalizing and soulful R&B singing. Solley emulates a band without getting lost in the technique." - Alex Rawls- Gambit Best of New Orleans.com
"But, for my money, far and away the most exciting act at this year’s Festival popped up on the first night in the form of the gorgeous, lissome of figure singer Kim Prevost and unassuming and diminutive guitarist Bill Solley. Solley never says a word but merely plays his instrument while the delightful Ms Prevost links the numbers and delivers marvellous vocals on a whole array of standards.Together they make up the most dynamically unusual jazz act seen in PE in many years – one might even say “ever seen in PE’’ and feel safe from contradiction."

"For me it was a chance to musically collaborate with Trent. He would play parts of what he wanted me to work on, and to play with creatively. He was just very easy about letting me find that, and do it without stress or pressure." - Nancy Lockyear for The NIN Hotline
Kim Prevost and Bill Solley are magicians. They take the gift of music to make some of the most soul-stirring, sensuous jazz being performed these days. It's the making of the music that is the magic.
