n February, Joseph Benaiah, a reggae singer and musician with more than 40 years in the business, released his solo project, the 15-track Vision With Faith. The album which has long been in the making and Benaiah, who is high on quality, teamed up with A-list musicians such as Dean Fraser, Sly and Robbie; Tyrone Downie; Robbie Lyn, Kirk Bennett, Mitchum ‘Khan’ Chin and Nambo Robinson.
He explained that the name was well-thought-out.
“Notice that is says ‘with faith’ and that’s because my mission is to tour the world and spread the message of reggae music – truths and rights – and to do that you have to have faith,” Benaiah stated.

Joseph Williamson, who performs by the name Joseph Benaiah (bĕ-nī’-yă) which is a word rooted in history and culture, was born in Kingston Jamaica. He began his music career as a bandleader, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter in 1970. Benaiah has performed and toured extensively, with reggae artists such as Dennis Brown, Mighty Diamonds, Toots and the Maytals, Marcia Griffiths, Michael Rose, and Freddie McGregor to name a few. He has performed in Japan, Brazil, México, Europe, Canada and most of the US. With Six CDs to his credit and a career spanning more than 20 years.
Benaiah’s CDs include We Nah Give Up, Children of Israel, Time Eternal and New Beginning. During the 1990’s, Benaiah was voted, “Best Reggae Band in Miami” by the readers of New Times and chosen as “Best Live Band. Benaiah received an award from Hi-Class Promotions for Best Backing Band. Since 2015 Joseph Benaiah has been a member of the legendary reggae group the Mighty Diamonds as ‘Capo Diamonds’. Joseph Benaiah is preparing to unleash his latest production onto the global marketplace.
He is currently working on his Sixth solo CD, ‘Vision with Faith’ in the upcoming spring of 2023. On his brand-new CD, Joseph Benaiah has assembled a powerful roster of world-renown musicians, to ensure the authenticity and quality of music his fans have come to expect. Features on the new album to name a few are Sly & Robbie, Dean Fraser, Glen Browney, Robbie Lyn, and Danny Bassie of the Firehouse crew. A powerful horn section provides the stamp of classic roots rock sound and offers an additional benefit to the listeners.
