"Jeff Saxon-Jersey's Jazz Man--IAE MAGAZINE Album Review"

Jeff Saxon hails from the Garden State of New Jersey. A seasoned artist, Jeff has a great voice and his music is comparable to Eric Clapton, Michael Bolton, and George Benson.

"Space Station 13509" is a great song, definitely worthy of radio spins on
every Jazz and Adult Contemporary station in the world. I love the song's production and writing, and with Saxon's smooth voice floating on top of the track, it's a sure fire hit.

Then there's "March On Bravely," where Saxon pays tribute to soldiers who return
home from defending our American freedoms, only to find there is no work for them. It's a very inspirational song that should be shared with as many Americans as possible. - IAE Magazine

"Jeff Saxon, "Truthteller", 2010--Short Takes July/August 2010"

I placed the CD in the box without so much as looking at the photo, and by the third song was convinced Jeff Saxon had too much soul to be white. I was wrong, and I apologize for the generalization that underlies that perception. Saxon's blue-eyed (hazel, actually) soul emanates from a voice that is utterly disarming, no matter how you misidentify it. Paul Carrack came to mind, not so much for the voice, but for Saxon's evident interest in a certain R&B state of mind. Keb Mo is actually much closer on the vocal thread, but who cares? Saxon testifies perfectly well on his own. As to the lyrics, well, for a CD entitled "Truthteller," I would go deeper. But that's just me. Saxon knocks yer socks off with the title track's honesty, the charming ballad, "Even If I Lived on the Moon," and the fleeting harmonica-and-Larrivee intimacy of "Ainthatamuthafuhya." Check it out. © Steve Klingaman - Minor 7th--"Reviewing the best in non-mainstream acoustic guitar music"

JEFF SAXON

While its difficult to attach a simple word or phrase to describe Jeffs sound or songwriting style, one can easily detect its jazz, blues Latin and old-school R&B leanings. JazzNet247 Radio Europe recently compared Saxon's vocal sound to "a young Van Morrison or Boz Scaggs". IAE Magazine (I Am Entertainment) simply called it a great voice and Minor 7th took it even further by writing that Saxon has a voice that is utterly disarming...

Jeff's 2013 CD release, Blujanova, a merging of blues, jazz and bossa nova, is attracting international acclaim and airplay. This hybrid style really shines with Jeff's innovative arrangements of iconic tunes seemingly devoid of jazz or Latin influences, such as "Hound Dog","Riders On The Storm" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)". These highly-innovative, musically-rich reworkings of timeless rock and blues classics along with 7 first-rate Saxon originals are included on Blujanova (Relevant Records # RR70713). Blues Matters!, the UK's most-read blues magazine described Blujanova as "very clever...something with a real twist which is very absorbing and experimental" . Muse's Muse, who also reviewed the disc, wrote: "Blujanova shines with sweet songs and strong playing; a labor of love by a real pro...the production is outstanding..."

Jeff is a NJ native, but lived and performed in Los Angeles for many years, where he worked in the studio or shared stages with well-known jazz and pop artists such as Dave Koz, Little Richard, Norman Brown, and jazz/fusion group, Hiroshima.
Jeff has performed at numerous music festivals on both coasts and his musical talents have drawn praise from a diverse list of public figures, including Quincy Jones and former President Clinton. Jeff has appeared at several film and music festivals, including the 2012 World Music And Independent Film Festival in Washington, D.C.(where he won the award for Best Rock Music Video), The Telluride Blues and Brews Festival and the Philadelphia Music and Film Festival.

Saxons compositions have earned him over 35 awards from various national and international songwriting contests including finalist selections in two national competitions; The Hottest New Artist Competition (in Virginia) and the Telluride
Blues Festivals Acoustic Blues Competition (in Colorado).
Jeff's also a former staff songwriter for the long-standing New York City-based publisher, Bourne Music and has had numerous song placements in film and TV.

Jeff's CD's, "Blujanova", Truthteller, "The Spin" and "Me, Myself, And I" are all available to preview and purchase at cdbaby.com and iTunes.
