It’s Olad szn! As the first song off of his upcoming cover mixtape Olad Szn, New Jersey native rapper Jay Olad recently released his increasingly popular “Rambo” freestyle and is now sharing the Don Baptiste-directed visual to accompany it’s unsparing delivery.
The Hip-hop newcomer shows off both insane charisma and hard-hitting lyrical growth in the heart of New York City–often baring the cold and uncompromising climate of Hip-Hop. Olad also pays homage to Syracuse University’s Men’s Basketball team and shouts out starting guard and good friend Malachi Richardson, who’s also from Trenton, New Jersey.
“Rambo” is one of three releases we can expect from Jay Olad, as he prepares to drop Olad Szn– a project we’ll be anticipating! - Dope Avenue
We have entered an era where J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar are our biggest role models infusing conscious lyricism back into mainstream Hip Hop. Musical camps such as Dreamville and TopDawg Ent. are where rising artists rush to in hopes of fulfilling their dreams of carving out opportunities for themselves. For Jay Olad, this Trenton, New Jersey Native, appreciates hip hop’s current transition providing a must needed platform to tell his unadulterated stories.
Although this isn't Olad's first introduction into the music business, he first appeared in the rap duo, Loyal Gang, with Spade Monrow releasing a few notable visuals for “My City,” “Meet Me There,” and “Lawd.” However, Olad wipes his creative slate clean to start anew as a solo act recently releasing his first single “Jealous.” As he begins this journey, his endurance to keep him focused is the vision to prove to himself and his hometown that dreams are possible. Similarly to millennial New Jersey success stories such as Mike Zombie and newcomer Fetty Wap, Jay Olad strictly wants to shine light on Trenton stating, “no one has ever made it from my city, I just
want to be the one to open that door.” His most defying tools of growing success, whether musically or personally, are attributed to humility, consistency, and dedication. Without these tools, he realizes he “won't have a solid project to distribute for people to listen and gain a fair perspective of who [he] is and how important [his] stories are.”
The difference between those who do and those who don't, are the ones that do. Olad sets his sights on pushing his creative limits while designing a new path for others to travel. Using his platform to tell stories and remaining humble is part of his master plan for fans to soon discover him. - Nikki Blaylock (Hip Hop Journalist)
Trenton, NY native, Jay Olad is making waves this season linking up with, Chicago singer/songwriter, Josh K to stunt on the women that played themselves.
Although this isn’t Olad’s first introduction into the music business, he has visions to prove to himself and his exes that his dreams are possible. Jay wants to shine light on Trenton stating, “no one has ever made it from my city. I just want to be the one to open that door.” His tools of growing success, whether musically or personally, are attributed to humility, consistency, and dedication. Without these, he realizes he “won’t have a solid project to distribute for people to listen and gain a fair perspective of who he is and how important his stories are.”
The difference between those who do and those who don’t, are the ones that do. This is a fair warning for the next woman not to play herself. Olad sets his sights on pushing his creative limits while designing a new path for others to travel. Either get right or get left and watch him flex on the ‘gram with his new woman. - Respect Magazine
