Janet Batch
Ithaca, New York, United States | Established. Jan 01, 2016
Bio
Raised on a dairy farm, influenced by 70's and 80's country radio, and garnished with an art degree, Janet Batch writes songs for herself and for the people. Her debut album, "A Good Woman is Hard to Find" still appeals to the heart of her fans and continues to earn her new listeners. It was released in 2017.
Since then, she has changed up her lineup and her sound, digging deeper into her country roots and embracing a fuller band sound. Joined by bassist, Mike Brando, lead guitarist Sid Green and drummer, Matt Cowan, she is embarking on a new album sampling from the writings since the first album. The new selections are heartier, heavier and reminiscent of outlaw country and country rock.
She has been described as one part Stevie Nicks and two parts Johnny Cash, and her lyrics have been categorized as smart, thoughtful and tender, while also biting, sneering, and taking no prisoners.
In early 2019, she also released an official music video for her single "Nobody Loves Me", a gritty anthem that brings the crowd to their feet, singing along.
