Bio
The year was 2012. Goldbloom founders Moses Marrero and Harrison Brown first met at a local coffee shop at which they worked. These two Austinites soon became buddies and wanted to put a band together. Both having experience in music playing with dozens of groups and projects that were ultimately unsuccessful, Marrero and Brown soon realized they had something that worked; their dynamic. They were both the opposite ends of the spectrum, and they fit each other like a glove.
Marrero is the visionary. Being the face of the band, he put the whole thing together and got the sound he wanted. And where he lacked in dexterity came Brown. He is the musician. Having played guitar for ten plus years, he has an extensive technical knowledge of all things surf, blues, rock, and specializes in achieving a vintage sound.
A few months later Marrero asked their coworker, drummer Isaiah Mancha, if he wanted to jam, and jam they did. The very first jam took place at drummer and coworker Isaiah Mancha's house; soon after Marrero asked his long time music partner, Jimmy Rabbitt, to play bass. Rabbitt, the bassist of such bands as America Is Waiting and AM Syndicate, agreed. Mancha himself had a long repertoire, playing with such acts as STUNTS and Qwenzentimer and the Traveling Baptists. The collaboration of all of our different musical influences began to mold a completely unique sound.
Goldbloom's sound can be described as surf, psych, and garage but is not limited to such. Drawing influence from a wide array of artists including The Beach Boys, The Ventures, Thee Oh Sees, Night Beats, Link Wray, Buddy Holly, Nirvana and Black Lips. Now nearing 2015, Goldbloom continues to wow audiences with their amazing live performances accented by Marrero's amazing stage presence and Brown's unruly guitar solos.
