Bio

Goldbar first emerged from the basement of guitarist Rick Egans Seattle home in the fall of 2006. Currently they're rocking in downtown Seattle and are looking to line up shows and festivals throughout 2017. In 2012 they completed their first album: Lonesome Highway. Goldbar will issue their second album in early 2017.

Band members are:

Rick Egan, originally from Connecticut, has played in bands pretty much straight through his life since he was 12. He spent six years in LA playing lead guitar for the band Spirit House, who shared bills with Hole, No Doubt, Urge Overkill among others. In '92 he moved to Santa Cruz playing bass guitar for the band Livid, who did one western US tour sharing bills with 311, Ice-T, Tool, and others. By '95 he was playing with childhood friends Brian Lee and JP Riva working on originals while still living in Santa Cruz. After this project faded, Egan returned to college to pursue new career goals and by '98 was living in San Francisco working in financial services. However, Egan continued to play music, forming the band Paw with other friends from days past. Paw played for five plus years until marriage and children brought Egan and family north to Seattle to be closer to his wife's family. Within two weeks of living in Seattle in August of 2005, Egan bumped into yet another childhood friend, bassist Tim Barney, who soon thereafter began playing together, first as the Two-bit Bandits and then changing name to Goldbar when drummer Andrew Sherack joined in fall of '06.

Tim T-bone Barney was born in NYC, but quickly escaped with his family to the mountains of Idaho at an early age. While out west he became interested in new wave and punk rock, but that was soon taken away from him and he replaced that with classic rock bands such as the Stones and the Grateful Dead. Thus his first band called The Thurd Stone was formed on a summer break in Rhode Island. While in college he met friends with the same musical tastes such as SRV and Jimi Hendrix, and while still into blues and rock, he moved to Austin, TX for a brief stint before heading to San Francisco to pursue a musical career. In SF he played in such bands as Yeti, which is included in the book "Jam Bands" by Dean Budnick c.1998. He also played the infamous High Sierra Music Festival, and opened for such greats as Leo and Zigaboo of the Meters. Yetis music is still available on Cdbaby as is their cd "Down From The Mountain". Tim has also played with the Alt country band Buckeye. Buckeye has also released two cd's so far, and still tours once in a while, though the best was the tour of Holland back in 2002 as far as Tim is concerned. Buckeye is on MySpace, and has quite a fanbase in Europe. Tim and Rick met way back in high school while Tim was a classmate of Rick's brother Jon, that lead to a few meetings while in SF, but they never played together until they met up in Seattle where Goldbar was founded.

Andrew Sherack is the only band member that is originally born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He was brought up in the north end of Seattle (Lake City), and that is where he fed on the cities rock and roll and metal music scene. Throughout school he played drums and percussion in various concert bands. Then after college, he played alongside many friends in several unnamed basement and garage bands. Prior to meeting Rick and Tim and forming up Goldbar, he most recently was a member of Seattle band Naked Bacon. Andrew thrives on rock and roll, and he is having a blast rockin with Goldbar.

Izzy Zuberman on keyboards, is originally from NYC. After a few cross-country roadtrips, he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and made Seattle his home. As a youngster, Izzy studied classical piano but was influenced by the jam bands of the hippie-era. He has played locally with many bands, performing at local venues and private parties. Izzy's songwriting draws on experiences from following the Dead and from exploring the seven continents. In the summer of 2010, Izzy joined Goldbar and is enjoying the creativity and talent of his new band members.

Matt Furlong is from Ohio and joined Goldbar in late summer of 2011 and plays a rockin guitar.
