Frog God is a prodigiously talented and deliriously odd musician whose work travels far beyond the constraints of parody and novelty into the heart of surrealist ecstasy. Despite a mastery for seemingly every mutation of the musical spectrum, Frog God refuses to play it straight; in essence, Frog God is a bratty deconstructionist, kicking dirt on the pop world around him with demented glee. Frog God’s razor-sharp satire cuts to the inherently silly heart of rock & roll with hilariously acute savagery; fueled by marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, adderall, and an all-consuming love for music, Frog God has created his own self-contained universe, a parallel dimension where he exists as a god.
He released his first EP ’Frog God Loves You’ on January 1st, 2016. Frog God described it as “a 6-song amalgam of weird, unrelated, drug-fueled ditties [he’s] made in the past year.” His first full-length album, Boronic!, due out June 6th, 2016, will feature popular singles “I Wanna Be In A 90’s Shoegaze Band,” “Frog God May Not Exist!” and “The Duke of Sussingham [ft. Arean Govand]”. It features many community musicians.
Frog God’s real name is Matt Reilly. He was raised in San Diego and continues to exist there to this day.
