FREE REX is a high-energy pop/punk/alt/rock cover band based out of Huntsville, AL, covering a wide variety of your favorite pop/punk/rock hits from the 90s, 2000s, 2010s and MORE!

We are available for private events, corporate events, college and fraternity events, festivals, and live music venues throughout North Alabama, Middle Alabama, Middle Tennessee, and surrounding regions.

Looking for something more chill than a rock concert? We also offer FREE REX [STRIPPED], for which we play acoustic versions of all our songs. ABOUT THE BAND

The bad started as a weekly after-work grill-out and jam session between six long-time friends during the 2020 lockdowns. The idea to officially form a cover band took root when we realized that no local bands ever played most of the songs that we were covering.

Over the year, we put together an extensive, diverse, and relatively modern list of high-energy songs from the 90s to today that we thought would be exciting and refreshing to hear played LIVE at the local pubs. And, after successfully playing several local gigs for hundreds of people over the summer of 2021, we learned that FREE REX was exactly the kind of cover band North Alabama was missing!
