Summary

Waves Festival 2013 is a festival and music conference held from October 3rd to 6th, 2013 at several clubs, off locations as well as public spaces and institutions in Vienna.

The festival is looking to book at least 3 Sonicbids artists/bands to perform live. Selected bands will be provided with accommodation and catering. Additional compensation (like artist fee or backline) could be negotiated. Numerous alternative and electronic artists will be performing alongside exhibitions, panels, lectures, workshops and film screenings during the festival week.

2013's edition features Slovenia and Belgium as guest countries. That means that 8 to 10 acts from a sum of 90 will come from each of those countries. Both guest countries will be features on special panels at the WAVES CONFERENCE. Other key topics will be live business, music streaming services and best practice from the wide field of music marketing.

WAVES VIENNA is the first club and showcase festival in Vienna. It's first editions in 2011 and 2012 not only managed to appeal to the national audience but also to attract visitors from the UK, US, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Greece, Denmark, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, France and many more.

The extremely remarkable attendance of international delegates and journalists from more than 25 countries at the WAVES MUSIC CONFERENCE proves the huge interest in the conference’s subject “East Meets West” and hence positions Vienna on the European map for music conferences.

In the course of 4 days, WAVES VIENNA presented more than 90 acts from 18 countries on 12 stages in Vienna. Between Wednesday and Sunday, more than 10,000 people visited the festival and watched 4.2 performances on average. Artists from all over the world from genres like Singer/Songwriter, Electronica, Dance, Alternative, Rock, Folk and Rap/Hip-Hop performed at the festival.
