2007 Virgin College Mega Tour

Submit today for the chance to perform on the Emerging Artist Day Stage in the Festival Village on the Virgin College Mega Tour 2007 – at least one Sonicbids artist will be selected to perform in each market!



The 2007 VCMT will feature a daytime village on campuses that will include an “emerging artist” day stage, dodge ball tournament, contest give-a-ways and the latest games, new product demonstrations and gadgets for the college market. Last year’s tour reached over 65,000 college students on 17 college campuses – and this year’s tour promises to be bigger and better than ever before. This year Talib Kweli and Sugarcult will headline the tour. Past performers include Yellowcard, Mae, Michelle Branch, Gavin DeGraw, Cake, Gomez, Rooney, Joe Firstman, and Tyler Hilton.



In its fourth year, the Virgin College Mega Tour will take place on major college campuses in the US beginning in early April 2007 and ending in early May, 2007. Confirmed dates include:

• 4/20 Stonehill College – North Easton, MA
  
• 4/25 College of Mount Saint Vincent - Riverdale, NY
  
• 4/28 University of Rochester – Rochester, NY
  
• 5/3 & 5/4 Ohio University - Athens, OH
  
• 5/5 Johnson & Wales University – Providence, RI
  
• 5/6 SUNY Albany - Albany, NY

Virgin College Mega Tour will be taking running submissions for all markets. A panel of CMJ judges will select the bands. All selected artists will:

• Play on the Virgin College Mega Tour Day Stage
  
• Be featured in a two-page ad in CMJ New Music Monthly
  
• Be featured in a two-page ad in CMJ New Music Report
  
• Be included in a “drop card” for music downloads to distributed at the 2007 CMJ Music Marathon
  
• Receive a one-year Supersonic membership from Sonicbids
  

Submissions must be market specific. If you’d like to be considered for more than one market, you must submit to each market separately and can submit to a maximum of three markets.



Please note: Selected artists will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the concert.



In order to be eligible, your Sonicbids EPK must be complete. Make sure your EPK includes your web site; number of band members and line-up (if applicable); a 200 word maximum bio (elevator pitch will be considered); three original songs (four (4) minutes in length or less) performed by you/your band; a color photo; the lyrics to each submitted song and an English-language translation of any song that is submitted in a language other than English. Song lyrics may not include profanities.
