Summary
The 2nd Annual Variety's Got Talent presented by Coast Capital Savings! Are you between 13 and 29? Were you born to sing? Enter Variety's Got Talent and you could be BC's next singing sensation.
Submit your online audition video between January 3rd - 15th, 2012. The finalists will come to Vancouver to perform at the River Rock Show Theatre on February 3rd for a panel of celebrity and industry judges. The winner will appear on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon, February 11th & 12th on Global BC and receive an amazing Tom Lee Music prize package including $1000 voucher and a free program (up to $500 value) at a Tom Lee Music Education Centre in British Columbia. The ten finalists all receive a $50 Tom Lee voucher.
You need to be:
- Available on January 21st, 2012 to take our call in case you are in the top 20, to upload your bio and take part in the 'People's Choice' voting on Youtube
- 13-29 years old
- Available on February 3rd, 2012 all day, in case you are one of the 10 finalists
- Available on February 11th, 2012 in case you win and need to appear on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon!
What are you waiting for?
- January 14 January 20: Top 20 Audition Videos are Selected.
- January 23 January 27: Peoples Choice Competition. Vote for your favourite VGT finalist the Variety YouTube Channel. Public will be able to view the audition videos of the Top 20 finalists and vote for their favourite. The competitor with the most votes will win a spot in the VGT Finals.
- February 3: Varietys Got Talent Finals at the River Rock Theatre from 7:30pm 10:00pm.
- Top 10 Finalists and the Peoples Choice winner perform for a live audience and a panel of judges.
- The panel of celebrity and industry judges includes, Talent Manager Bruce Allen, Global BCs Steve Darling, Spirit of the Wests Vince Ditrich and 100.5 The Peaks Tamara Stanners.
Last years winner was Shylo Sharity, 22, of Langley. Shylo presented her winning video on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon and has been performing steadily ever since, even opening for country singing legend, Wynonna, at the Red Robinson Show Theatre this past spring.
Submissions are accepted from 8 regions of British Columbia; please see diagram in gallery below to determine your region. Videos must be 2-3 minutes in length and feature a solo vocal performance. Videos recorded with webcams, smart phones, or other digital video recorders are accepted.
