Sound of Music Festival is booking at least 20 Sonicbids artists for their 2016 event. Compensation is provided.
The Opportunity
Sound of Music Festival is the largest annual gathering of free, live music in Canada. Featuring a unique blend of new and emerging artists, the event presents varying genres and family fun all in one amazing lakeside location, Burlington Downtown and Waterfront. Attendance has been over 200,000 people for each of the past five years. Sonicbids artists are eligible to play any of the 10 performance areas at the festival.
The festival is run from a strong volunteer base and is a not-for-profit organization. It is a family event and the use of profanity and audience inciting is not allowed.

The Band
- Canadian artists only
- Preference for acts who have not played the festival in the past 2-3 years
- Family friendly
The Gig
Details:
- Set lengths 30-60 minutes, 1-3 sets depending on stage
- Professional sound provided at all stages
- Lighting provided at larger stages
- Sound engineer provided at larger stages
- Minimal backline (drums and amps) provided at larger stages
- All performances are outdoors
- Own Amp/Sound required for some stages
- Compensation is negotiated at the time of booking
- Artists retain 85% of their merchandise sales
- Food/drink provided at larger stages
- Artist lounge are is available at larger stages
