Summary

The Solano Avenue Stroll, East Bay's largest street festival, features over five hundred vendors including, non-profit organizations, food booths and entertainers. At least five Sonicbids members are guaranteed to perform during the event, receiving compensation up to $300.The stroll expects more than 250,000 attendees this year.



Artists from a wide variety of genres are encouraged to submit to this opportunity. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a theme parade consisting of about 100 groups and organizations. Afterward, the Stroll kicks into high gear, featuring 75 entertainers, 50 food booths, 150 juried crafters, wacky art cars, and almost 200 community non-profit organizations. Performances are grouped into two to three one hour shows, placed one hour apart.



No equipment or backline is provided, so selected artists should bring all their own instruments, cables, mics etc.



Since 1974, the merchants, restaurants and professionals, as well as the twin cities of Albany and Berkeley CA, have hosted the Solano Avenue Stroll, put on by non-profit organization, The Solano Avenue Association. It is invariably the second Sunday in September.



Past performances have included: Incendio, CZ and the Bon Vivantes, Funky Bus & the U-Turns, Otis Goodnight, California Repercussions, Emeryville Taiko, and the Templebar Royal Hawaiian Ukulele Band.
