Summary
Skylark Café & Club is an 1800 sq. ft. live music venue in southwestern Seattle, WA (right off I-5) with a posted capacity of 85 people. They have a full P.A., a raised stage, and provide a sound person at no charge to artists. Skylark does not charge a cover, so customers can discover new music risk-free every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Additionally, Sunday nights host all ages dinner shows beginning at 7:00 PM, where children and teens alike are welcome!
Recently named BEST KARAOKE BAR 2006 in Seattle on Seattle CitySearch, and placed well in Best Happy Hour, Best Live Music Venue, and Best Bloody Mary.
Three bands are typically billed together, with sets ranging 40-45 minutes. Artists are compensated 10% split of bar and restaurant sales (12% if a 4 band bill), drink tickets, and a food discount.
All genres are accepted, but Skylark typically does not book straight-ahead blues, jazz, or tribute bands since other nearby bars have that covered. Genres that are most successful there tend to be americana/country and all flavors of indie and alternative rock. If you are local, stop by a show (they're all free) to see the room or play the Open Mic (every Wednesday with full backline).
Past performers include: Hypatia Lake, The Trucks, The Delusions, No-Fi Soul Rebellion, Juhu Beach, Madraso, Department of Energy, The Young Sportsmen, Brent Amaker & the Rodeo, Spanish for 100, Bend, Mamie Lavona the Exotic Mulatta & her All White Boy Band, Tiger Teenagers, H is for Hellgate, The F**king Eagles, The Snakebites, Patient Patient, Spook the Horse and many more.
Skylark Café & Club is also a full-service restaurant (lunch, dinner, weekend brunch) with a great menu. Late-night menu is available during shows.
