Rock The Park

Perform at Canada's largest birthday celebration, courtesy of Downsview Park and Cool Planet Entertainment on July 1, 2007! "Rock The Park" is the ultimate Canada Day celebration that ignites on more than 600 acres in the heart of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This venue has been host to such artists as The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Rush, Justin Timberlake, The Guess Who, Sam Roberts and The Flaming Lips.



Past Canada day celebrations have seen Canadian artists such as Shawn Desman, Fefe Dobson, The Philosopher Kings and Hedley headline the main stage to amazing crowds of over 70,000 people.



Celebrating Canadian heritage is an important mandate of Downsview Park. Keeping with that theme and following up on last year’s success of the Indie Side Stage, Downsview Park has decided to initiate a Canada wide search for up and coming artists to perform on the main stage.



This year’s line-up has confirmed The Rockstar House Band with vocal performances by Suzie McNeil, Marty Casey, Ty Taylor, Dilana and Storm Large as well as Canadian Rockers Faber Drive and 54-40.Six additional spots are being held for some of Canada's best and brightest, so be sure to submit today.



"Rock The Park" is open to all ages and admittance is free. The event also offers midway rides, craft vendors, food and beverage tents as well as various activities for people of all ages. Mainstage performances are followed by a dazzling fireworks display.



All performers must be Canadian citizens.



Selected artists will be compensated $1000 for their performances. Travel and lodging expenses are at the artist expense.
