Summary
Sofar Sounds Philly is looking to book Sonicbids artists to perform throughout the fall. Selected artists will receive either a fully edited video of one song from their performance or a share of donations collected at the show.
The Opportunity
Sofar Sounds events showcase local and touring talent to a carefully curated audience of music lovers in over 150 cities worldwide.
Attendance ranges from 50-120 people depending on capacity. Since the shows are all secret, bands don't need to leverage their draw or market the show and they get to play to an audience full of completely attentive music fans who are actively seeking new bands to love. The secrecy also makes it a great add-on to a regularly scheduled evening show as it drives Sofar Philly's mailing list to your show as they fall in love with you at the showcase and want to hear more. Timing can be flexible.
The Band
- Sets are stripped down to encourage a real connection with the audiences
- Acoustic is preferred, but not absolutely required
- Accepted bands will be asked to discuss set up with the Sofar Philly team
- Past Sofar Philly videos will give you a feel for the type of artists that are booked
The Gig
Details:
- Three to five artists perform at each Sofar show
- Artists play for 15-20 minutes each
- Events are held in different intimate locations in the Philadelphia area
- Artists are given the choice of a fully edited video of one song performed at the session that will be promoted across Sofar Sounds global social media including its YouTube channel where your video will take its place alongside past performers such as Hozier, Bastille, and more or
- An equal share of donated hat money at each show
