Summary
The 35th Annual Oktoberfest will be held on Sunday, October 13th, 2012 from 12 - 6:00 throughout five blocks in the heart of Harvard Square (raindate Monday, October 14th). The event is attended annually by well over 200,000 people. Oktoberfest also features a parade from the HONK! Festival in Somerville to the Oktoberfest bringing even bigger crowds to Harvard Square for the day.
Oktoberfest features five stages of live entertainment, music, dance, art, street performances and 200+ artisans and merchants offering handmade, vintage, recycled, costume, antique, and sidewalk sale items. There will be between 10 and 12 artists playing the event on a variety of different stages and locations.
The festival is a great opportunity for artists to get exposure through Oktoberfests press coverage both in print and on-line. Oktoberfest also offers artists year-round visibility on our site and tables at the event to sell merch all day! Other special events at Oktoberfest include the Honk Festival and the Honk Parade to Oktoberfest an ambulatory spectacle to reclaim the street for Horns, Bikes and Feet.
All genres are accepted; however, this is a family-friendly event so music must be family-friendly to be considered.
ROCK, HONK, DANCE and PARADE at Oktoberfest where celebrating the change of season in Harvard Squares legendary streets is the order of the day!
People attending Oktoberfest can enjoy music while standing in one of the most important intersections in America.
Oktoberfest is the ultimate "taste of" event where one can sample international cuisine, festival favorites, and delicious desserts. If you'd like to see photos from past Harvard Square events check out click here.
