More than 40 national and international emerging bands will perform on several stages in the park. Compensation for selected bands is negotiable.

The Metropolis Festival is the event to discover new pop music and talent. Metropolis - New Music First: The new slogan of Metropolis says it all. They are looking for new, innovative acts that are on their way to becoming an essential part of the Dutch music scene.

Metropolis Festival was the first to introduce to the Dutch scene bands like the Smashing Pumpkins, The Prodigy, Kula Shaker, Wu Tang Clan, Train, The Strokes, Interpol, The Killers, Pete and the Pirates, Moke, The XX and Kubus & BangBang to program before they made it big.

Started in 1988, Metropolis created a stage for upcoming talent to present themselves to a large audience. In the years to follow Metropolis succeeded to bring the great names in contemporary music on its stages, mostly at the start of their careers. For both local as international bands, performing at the festival became an important way to get new fans, increase record sales and book more gigs. Genres also include rock, metal, indie, punk, hip-hop, and experimental electronic sounds.
