From the world's leading authority on music comes this year's biggest search for the best and brightest new songwriting talent. The 18th Annual Billboard Song Contest is your chance to be heard by some of the biggest names in the music business. There are over $30,000 in prizes that could help skyrocket your career, plus, all entries will receive a personal song evaluation and the top 1500 songwriters will receive an honorable mention certificate.
Billboard Song Contest has recently added a Christmas song category, which will be judged by the legendary Oak Ridge Boys, who will also perform and record the winning song./n/nDue to an influx of last-minute submissions, the notification deadline has been moved to Friday February 18th.

All entries will receive a personal song evaluation and the top 1,500 songwriters will receive an honorable mention certificate. Also, Billboard Song Contest offers songwriters the chance to be heard by some of the biggest names in the music business.
There were 34 Sonicbids artists from all over the world who were awarded prizes in 2009 including Jes Hudak, End Roulette, Njacko Backo and Kalimba Kalimba, Kind of Girl and Rob D.
Billboard Song Contest has added a new category for the Best Undiscovered Christmas Song. The Grammy-Award winning Oak Ridge Boys will be judging this category, as well as performing and recording the winning song. Click here for a special seasons greetings from the Oak Ridge Boys themselves.
New Announcement (9/16): Billboard Song Contest has added an instrumental category that will feature legendary guitarist Roy Clark as a judge.
Previous BBSC winner Steve Desjardins (along with co-writers Charles Harn and Lisa Firestone) won first place in the Country category and subsequently were able to get a publishing deal on the strength of this win. The song has subsequently been placed twice with up and coming performers.
Another previous winner, Peter Roberts and Ron Boustead, used talented 12-year old singer Daechelle for their song Fearless, which won in the Pop category. As a result of this win, they were able to get the song placed in the Bratz movie and (Geffen) soundtrack. Bratz was the biggest teengirl movie of that year. Daechelle also landed a rare developmental deal with Geffen records as a result.
Contest categories include: Rock, Alternative, Pop, Jazz, Country, Rap, Contemporary Christian, Latin, Dance, Electronica, Americana/Folk, R&B, and Gospel.
