Summary
Toronto's Winterfolk Festival is looking for a minimum of 5 Sonicbids artists to fill showcase stages February 12-16, 2016. The opportunity will pay solo artists a minimum of $150, duets $300, and more for larger bands subject to budget, negotiation and draw. Compensation along with artist festival passes and hospitality.

The Opportunity
Presenting more than 200 artists over three days in downtown Toronto, the ease and accessibility of Winterfolk's programming makes it a haven for booking agents, promoters, and media. Every year 10,000+ attendees visit Winterfolk's showcases including talent scouts from venues such as Harbourfront, City of Toronto Events, and the Canadian National Exhibition.
Winterfolk will present seven stages in venues in the ‘Music Row’ of Toronto Canada, located downtown in the Danforth and Broadview area. Confirmed so far is the ‘Black Swan’ on Danforth, and more venues will be named.

The Band
- Solos, duets, trios, and all sized bands encouraged to apply
- Accepted genres include, but are not limited to singer/songwriter, roots, blues, acoustic, folk, ethnic, pop, world, native, country, spoken word, children's
- Artist material must be family friendly
The Gig
Details:
- 50-minute sets
- Plus a minimum of one additional shared set as part of a workshop or seminar
- Sound equipment including mics, PA's, monitors provided
- Basic backline (drum kit and amps) supplied
- Negotiable monetary compensation, as budget allows
- Selected artists will have pictures and/or bio featured on Winterfolk website, in print advertisements, flyers, Winter folk program guide, and in other applicable forms of promotion
- Radio spot and interview consideration
- Artist passes for access to the stage, backstage, and hospitality privileges valid for duration of the festival
- Passes to attend private artist parties and an information session
- A spot in the festival's merchandise area; Winterfolk will take care of sales for all of your merch-related products
