GETTING TO KNOW ERIN STOLL
by Jacqueline Jax host of A.V.A Live Radio
Unfinished..
The song Unfinished means so much to myself and so many others. On my first EP, I wanted all the songs to be uplifting, motivational and inspirational. That is who I am as an artist, as a person, as a wife, mother, as a friend. No one should live a life that’s unfinished. Living a life that is “Unfinished” is exactly what I’ve always tried to promote. It’s like everything I’ve always wanted to say about life in one song. This song was written by well-known Nashville songwriters Phil Barton & Mallary Hope. It was originally pitched to a fellow country singer Lizzie Paul, who did the backup vocals on my latest EP. This was not her kind of song and when she heard it, she immediately thought of me and had James Rea who did A&R for my album send the song to me for review. As soon as I heard it, it was as if the song was meant for me. I had to record this song and make it the title of my first EP.
I actually just won my first music award for this song from the Ohio Music Awards, Best of Ohio – Best Country Song 2016! www.Theohiomusicawards.com
Ohio…
I’m originally from a small town in Ohio called Wadsworth. I currently reside in an even smaller town of Lodi, Ohio. I have been here a little less than 4 months. Both towns are about 30 to 45 minutes south of Cleveland. We all know that Cleveland is the heart of Rock N Roll. The music scene here in Ohio, especially in northeast Ohio, is big on Blues and Rock N Roll. I would say that country would come next. There are many many talented country artists emerging from northeast Ohio right now. Ohio has several Country music festivals, popular country bars and a growing audience of country music fans.
My current town specifically of Lodi, is FULL of amazingly talented musicians who are undiscovered. In fact, one of my neighbors is a known musician in this area. We have an incredible local Music Shop that I frequent, called Lodi Music owned by Andrew Zeager and Tyson Mapes. They host several music events with some of the great local talent. They even have a mini “music museum” in the shop and have my singed photo right next to Dolly Parton’s. The two bands that I have been in the past have all been from Lodi, OH. I like to call Lodi, the “New Mecca of Music”. - Jacqueline Jax

Erin Stoll 3
Erin Stoll is more than a girl with a dream. Her Facebook page is full of posts that say things like “You gotta live your life while your blood is boiling, Doors won’t open while you stand and watch them,” and “Never Stop Looking Up,” and my favorite, “Just a girl who decided to go for it”. It takes more than dreams, hopes, and vision to become a successful country singer these days. It takes talent. And Erin Stoll certainly has her share of that. She has found a way to produce vocals that are powerful, and crystal clear at the same time. It’s nice to find an artist who can project without screaming. We found that in Erin. It’s also nice to find an artist who can use her music to tell a story. We found that with Erin, too.
Erin’s song, “I Wanna Live Like That” quickly became a favorite of ours. She is telling a story that could really apply to any one of us. And, she sings it beautifully. If you have never heard a song and thought, “I could have written that”, this might be the song that brings that thought to your mind. it starts with this: “I wanna learn from my mistakes. I wanna give back what I take. I wanna be there for my friends. I wanna aways make amends. I wanna live like that. I wanna laugh right out loud. I wanna make my mamma proud. I wanna have the strength to cry. I wanna always wonder why… I wanna live like that.” After you hear that much, you can’t wait to hear the rest. Those are all things that we all want for our own lives. We just haven’t been able to put those kind of thoughts to music. Someone did, and Erin brought that music to us.
61k hgrwVCL._SL1000_We first heard the single “Unfinished” on Spotify. that one is instantly likeable. Her music might be what she calls ‘modern country’, but it has an inspirational side to it as well. “Unfinished” is also the title track from her EP. We later listened to “Judgement Day”. It didn’t ‘take us long to realize this young lady doesn’t have a bad song in her EP. There is always one I like a little less than the others, but there was nothing I didn’t like. This EP is available on Amazon, just in case you need a little something extra to give as a Christmas gift this year, or maybe you would like one for yourself. Head over to Amazon, and check it out.
She’s from the small town of Wadsworth, Ohio. The opening sentence of the biography on her Facebook page pretty much sum up her life story – to this point. It reads, “A small town country girl with big dreams” Erin Stoll is a grass roots country singer and Nashville Recording Artist from a small town in Ohio. Erin’s style is… a combination of modern country with an uplifting, soulful twist. Erin had always dreamed of becoming a country singer and recording in Nashville.”
You can read her biography on Facebook by clicking here. When you read this, you will quickly discover that the road she is following to her dreams is already paved with achievements and accomplishments which only prove her talents are being put to good use. Erin’s song “Unfinished” was most recently awarded Best Country Song – Best of Ohio 2016 from The Ohio Music Awards. She was selected to perform at the AMAA Showcase 2016 at The Akron Civic Theatre and won a main stage slot. She performed The National Anthem at The NHRA Finals in Nowalk, OH which was televised LIVE on ESPN sports. and these are just a few of the recognition she achieved in 2016.
Along with band members, Lego Legros – Guitar & Vocals; Bubba Ruscin – Drums; and, Eric Edwards – Bass, Erin can be found on stage at The Thirsty Cowboy, where she opened for Mark Leach; and at special events like Mirror, Mirror Boutique’s second birthday bash, in Seville, Ohio.

Wadsworth native Erin Stoll had a very good year, which was capped off on December 3 when her song “Unfinished” was named the Best Country Song of 2016 by the Ohio Music Awards.
The song “Unfinished” meant so much to Stoll and she hopes many others. “On my first EP, I wanted all the songs to be uplifting, motivational and inspirational,” said Stoll. “Living a life that isn’t “Unfinished” is exactly what I’ve always tried to promote. It’s like everything I’ve always wanted to say about life in one song,” she added.
The song “Unfinished,” which is also the title of Stoll’s EP which was released in July of 2016, was written by some well-known Nashville songwriters, Phil Barton & Mallary Hope of Hori Pro; Sixteen Stars Music. The song was originally pitched to fellow country artist and friend of Stoll, Lizzie Paul, who also added background vocals to the Unfinished EP. “This was not her kind of song and when she heard it, she immediately thought of me and had James Rea who did A&R for my album send the song to me for review,” Stoll explained. “As soon as I heard it, it was as if the song was meant for me. I felt a huge calling to record this song and later it became the title of my very first release.”
Stoll recorded the song in April of 2016 at Beaird Music Group, Inc in Nashville, TN. It was produced by Randy ‘Rockit’ Barr and mixed & engineered by Rob Lane and Jim DeBlanc. A&R was done by James Rea of the Producer’s Chair Nashville. Musicians on this song include Paul on background vocals, JT Coenflos on electric guitar, Larry Beaird on acoustic guitar, Dan Dugmore on steel guitar and keys and David Dorn & Larry Paxton on Bass.

Growing up, Erin Stoll knew she wanted to be a country music star. Now at “34 years young,” her dreams seem to be coming true.
Hoping to one day attend the Grammy Awards in person, Stoll said she’ll be tuning in to watch the music awards show Sunday night.
Listening to George Strait, the Judds and Heart, Stoll said, she “had a lot of musical influence at a young age,” adding she was always interested in performing.
By high school, Stoll said she decided to “go for it.”
The 2001 Wadsworth High School graduate has performed on talent shows such as “The X Factor” and “America’s Got Talent.” She said she’s also been in a number of bands, but “nothing that made it.”
Now residing in Lodi, Stoll said social media has helped advance her musical career.
“A producer from Nashville found me,” she said, giving her an opportunity to go to the country music hotspot and make an extended-play record containing five songs.
The EP titled “Unfinished” was released in July and since then, “Everything’s been kind of blowing up,” Stoll said.
Two college radio stations, Lakeland Community College’s Lake Effect in the Cleveland suburb of Kirtland, and Nyack College’s WNYK from New York, have her music in their rotation, according to Stoll.
Stoll recently received an Ohio Music Award, Best of Ohio — Best Country Song 2016 for a track titled “Unfinished.”
Stoll said she will be going to Nashville later this year to record another five-song EP. She’ll record vocals, studio musicians will record the band music and then she’ll go back and sing harmonies. The last step will have a sound engineer mixing the songs. The process will span three days.
“Typically what I like to write about and what I like to sing are uplifting, motivational songs,” she said.
The next album will be focused more on the working class, namely “hunters and fishers … They’ll be more relatable songs,” Stoll said.
Stoll will be getting ready for her largest performance, which will be March 4 when she opens for national recording artist Colt Ford at the Odeon in Cleveland.
When she’s not out serenading music lovers, Stoll has her own audience at home that includes her husband of four years, Caleb, and three children — 10-year-old Landon, 7-year-old Lane and 2-year-old Aubrey.
With Caleb’s support, Stoll said, her dream is a reality.
“He deals a lot with my music,” she said. “He’s pretty amazing and very supportive of the whole thing.”
All three children are artistic, as well. Aubrey will burst into song out of nowhere and Landon takes guitar lessons with his mom. Lane, Stoll said, likes to draw and could one day be an actor.
“If it weren’t for the support of my family and friends and fans, I wouldn’t be able to do this.”

WADSWORTH – Ever since she was 9 years old, Erin Stoll knew she wanted to be a singer.
“I’ve been chasing the dream even more seriously since my teenage years,” said the Wadsworth native. “When I graduated from high school and did a lot of talent searches, my family was skeptical. They’ve always wanted what’s best for me.”
But now with a recently released five-song country EP and an Ohio Music Award, Stoll’s family is no longer so skeptical.
Stoll released the EP called “Unfinished” back in July and her songs have been receiving a lot of airplay on several Internet radio stations. In mid-December, Stoll received the Ohio Music Award, Best of Ohio – Best Country Song 2016 for her song “Unfinished.”
“I was pretty blown away when I got the news,” Stoll said. “I had been contacted him October and found out my song was picked for consideration. I was hoping and doing some praying.”
When Stoll began work on recording the EP in Nashville, she and her manager did a song search – a common practice in Nashville where songwriters pitch songs to country music artists.
“‘Unfinished’ was the last song that was pitched to me and it absolutely tugged at my heart strings,” Stoll said. “I like my songs to be uplifting and motivational and this song was really relatable to how I try to live my life.”
After receiving her award Stoll, has been featured in “Cleveland Country Magazine” as well as “Country Chatter.” On March 4, she will open up for national country act Colt Ford at the Odeon in Cleveland.
“It’s pretty exciting to get to open up for him,” Stoll said. “You try to get your name out there getting gigs in the area and then when I get one of these bigger acts, it’s so exciting I don’t even know what to say. I just really love to perform and share my talent with everyone.”
Stoll said she has always related to country music and grew up listening to it.
“I’m a country girl. I was raised in the township and I used to tractor pull,” she said. “I was raised on old country music. My mom listened to George Strait and The Judds and that style just spoke to me.”
Stoll, who now lives in Lodi, said she has written some songs, but has never recorded any of them.
“That is going to be our next project,” she said. “That is probably something we are going to do around summer.”
As far as advice for aspiring music artists, Stoll said you have to be willing to promote yourself.
“There are so many talented artists out there who don’t promote themselves,” Stoll said. “But it is very important. You really have to lay yourself on the line. Definitely use social media to market yourself, especially Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Those are huge for getting yourself out there. Also don’t trust everyone and learn to trust your gut and always remember that your fans are the ones who got you where you are.”
