Erik Bigsby

"What could possibly go wrong?" may just be the tag line for high-energy acoustic-indie artist Erik Bigsby. In his late 20's, Erik Bigsby makes sure that the crowd gets to have as much fun as he is in stage. The North Carolina transplant from the mountains of norther New Jersey plays upbeat, acoustic, (sometimes comical) songs on his acoustic guitar. 

Erik grew up listening to all the bands his Dad told him to, and thank goodness for that. Bands like Bowling For Soup, Jimmy Buffett, The Ramones, Green Day, Alan Jackson and hundreds of CD's (compact disks, think small frisbees, kids) were all important to developing his own musical identity. However it wasn't until listening to English songwriter Frank Turner that Erik decided he could: "Try this at Home." Armed with a pen and notebook Erik Bigsby tried his hand at emulating the tongue-in-cheek humor of the various musicians he looked up to in his own songs. After a while people started to look forward to certain songs.

Playing open mic's in Wilmington earned Bigsby the chance to be the FIRST artist showcased at the Island Beverage Songwriter's Showcase. On November 23rd, a packed house got to see Erik's first full-length set which included no less than 14 songs and 8 originals that really got people going. "That was when I knew I was really into playing infant of people."

Erik will be recording his first EP and releasing it independently with hope to begin playing all along the East coast by late 2020. Erik Bigsby would love to play in your town! Please reach out and let him join you all in song.
