Bio
DIG THE KID originated from Oakland, CA and was first discovered by Jeff Greenberg, owner of the Village Recorder in Los Angeles. Since 2013 they have been achieving success the DIY way, building a following through their over the top, dynamic live performances. They released a pair of EP's while licensing their songs to Showtime’s Shameless series, ESPN, a trailer for Gabriel Iglesias’ The Fluffy Movie and the GoPro Indy Grand Prix at Sonoma Raceway. Five of their original songs were also used as part of the 2014 and 2015 video marketing campaigns for the women’s fashion line bebe. DTK continues to build their career after sharing the stage with artists such as Robbie Kreiger of the Doors, Sheppard, P.O.D, Hoobastank, Steel Panther, and many more. They have created a strong reputation for themselves among venue promoters and industry professionals. They will be recording with Krieger in the next couple of months.
In 2015 they were asked to write the end title (which went on to become the theme song) for the remake of the cult classic film POINT BREAK by Alcon Entertainment's new label Alcon/Sleeping Giant (ASG). The result became "Still Breathing" co-produced by Michael Hodges and Grammy winner Ken Caillat, and was the centerpiece of the ASG soundtrack distributed by Universal. The single was worked on hot alternative radio by Caroline Promotion. In 2016 they completed recording on their first full length album “Ballad of Youth” set to be released in 2017. DtK has a knack for writing catchy melodies, which can be used for any type of licensing, no matter what the genre. Their goal is not only to tour arenas, but to write #1's for other artists as well.
DtK is a big power duo consisting of Lisa (Dig) Mongelli and Cory (Kid) Todd. They love to hire their fellow musician friends to share the stage with them. Evert show is a surprise. They switch instruments, have guest players, and definitely bring the noise. Every song has a meaning, a voice, and a presence. Their show is a guarantee from beginning to end of inconceivable showmanship.
