Let’s get the evening started with a video premiere from DamonStCloud. He may not be a name you’re familiar with yet, but press play and allow yourself to be converted to fandom. The 20 year old New Jersey emcee/producer comes through with some visuals for his new track “Charlie Bartlett.” The Wild Walt produced and Baj featured track takes its’ name from the 2007 film of the same name. Says DamonStCloud of the song and video:”As a song, Charlie Bartlett is about desire of acceptance and love. A lot of us take risks for love and acceptance from others that we know isn’t even genuine, similar to the character Charlie Bartlett… The idea for the Charlie Bartlett video was to give the audience a visually entertaining glimpse into the memories and people who experienced with me, what I talk about in the song. Also, I wanted to use this video to pay homage my friend Nico ‘Sneek’ Chase, who passed away last year. He supported anyone that was doing something positive, and for him my music was no exception so it was only right to honor him on the first single.” Watch the self-directed video, below. As the 20 year old artist, producer and director from West Orange, NJ makes his way through the crowded field of Hip Hop, you can hear and see there is no limit to where he can go. In Fall of 2014, he dropped his first mixtape, The SaintTape, that set the tone for fans of his witty word play and fusion of classic beats from some of his favorite producers like J Dilla, MF Doom, Nick Wiz andTimberland. The 9-song project fused vintage R&B tracks and gritty underground beats paired with eloquent visuals highlighted by DamonStCloud’s version of Aaliyah’s classic hit “One In A Million” re-stylized as “1/1,100,000″. DamonStCloud is currently performing at various shows and festivals, along the way he has opened up for Casey Veggies and Hip Hop Icon Rakim at the legendary SOB’s in NYC.
