“We recently watched the outstanding new band, Coliseum Street, at three different venues in Waikiki and another in Kailua. The four highly talented band members create an explosive synergistic sound that thrills audiences. The lead singer, Ella, is gifted with a beautiful voice and a powerful vocal range that she masterfully uses to energize her audience with profound lyrics that she writes herself. On guitar, Valentina leads the dynamic enticing sound that grounds Ella’s voice. Their exceptionally talented bassist, Basil, provides for the continuity and the dynamic intensity of the sound, keeping the rhythm section tight with complex rhythms and harmonies without stepping on the vocals. And, simply put, their drummer Sam is the best drummer on Oahu, playing with such power, force, and intensity that audiences cannot stop moving to the beat. The drum solo towards the end of their song “Evermiss” always leaves audiences screaming for more. The band members are tight, completely in synch creating a hypnotic intensity of sound. When Coliseum Street plays, people simply cannot stop dancing. This is the most important band on Oahu and you don’t want to miss them. And, don’t miss their single, “Blind Eyes” which was just recently released.” - EBS Music Reviews
"Having existed since 2019, Hawaii alt-rock band Coliseum St. have finally emerged with their debut single, “Blind Eyes”. The band already has a sizable fanbase in their home state, but “Blind Eyes” is their high-energy introduction to the world. With alt-rock and pop-punk elements, the band is difficult to compartmentalize into a specific genre. This bodes well for Coliseum St. as they look to make a bigger name for themselves in their home state and beyond. Releasing a short time ago, the song has already racked up 6k streams on Spotify, and their sound is difficult to ignore as well. Let’s see what they do for an encore." - New Fury Media
“A dynamic new band from the island of Oahu. This track grabbed my attention immediately from the start. Mean, deep and moody guitar intro, which is then accentuated by Ella’s enchanting and intriguing sounding vocal style and delivery. As the song progresses, so does the pace and the intensity as the rest of the band raise the stakes and the noise levels to produce a fresh sounding and direct post punk/alt rock track that is impossible to ignore. I fell in love with it immediately. It just has everything punk and alternative music fans love about this particular genre of music. The brutal honesty, the raw emotions and the melodic vessel everything is contained in really connected with me.” “Musically the whole band sounds on point and as a collective they are going to be hard to ignore if they keep putting out records as good and as entertaining as this.” - Accidental Music Reviewer
“Coliseum Street has just released their highly anticipated hit single, “Blind Eyes,” and audiences are obsessed. This dynamic new band from beautiful Oahu attracts and excites large audiences with their addictive, enchanting sound. The band consists of gifted musicians led by the most talented, charismatic vocalist we have seen in decades. Crowds erupt into dance as Ella takes them into a magical world of refreshing sound with lyrics so vital to the times in which we live and addressing issues facing young people today. The band is tight and the vocalist is out-of-sight. This is a must-see band that captivates their audience.” - SFB Enterprises
"When you think of punk rock hotbeds, you might think of cities like New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. But you probably wouldn’t think of Oahu, HI. Well one band is looking to change that, their name is Coliseum St. and they’re about to put Hawaii’s third largest island on the punk rock map.
Started by sisters Ella Malarkey and Valentina Moghaddam during their time at Kailua Music School in 2019, their lineup would soon fill in with additional members Connor Purington, Sam Seibert, and their bassist known as Basil."
"The fast paced track, raw with emotional energy speeds through evoking the frantic energy described by Malarkey, clocking in at 3:21, just a little longer than the classic 3 minute punk song." - Music Existence
“Coliseum Street has exploded onto the Oahu music scene, thrilling their audiences and followers with music the band members write from their hearts. Their performances have that rare and magical intensity that emotionally connects with fans. The band is fabulous and the lead singer, Ella, is a powerhouse and an exceptional talent. With Ella, you not only hear the lyrics, you feel them in your heart, your intellect and your soul. This band is a rare treat and their newly released first single, “Blind Eyes” is a masterpiece.” - Big Ed

Bio
"The sick baby of Hole and Paramore", Coliseum St. is walking the line between alternative/punk rock niche and mainstream rock. After a string of successful shows, the band became known for their high-energy live performances, catchy melodies, excellent musicianship, and lyrics that sit on the line between sopping teenage angst and brutal, cellar-aged vulnerability. Founded by classically trained screamer Ella Malarkey and their sister Valentina Moghaddam, drummer Sam Seibert and bassist Basil filled out the lineup. They released their debut single, Blind Eyes, in March 2022. The song was originally titled the OCD song, and speaks about mental illness and its difficulties. Fans have related closely with the message, getting the lyrics as tattoos and screaming along to the chorus “again and again and again and again, until it’s right, it’s right, it’s right” at every show. They embarked upon their first mainland US tour in August 2022, and released their debut album on August 12th, 2022. The band will continue to release singles monthly leading up to their upcoming tour in July 2023.
