“Everybody Loves the Sun” was written by Rich and Rob Kwait. Musicians on the song are
Rich Kwait on lead and background vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, with additional organ, piano and percussion; Rob Kwait on background vocals, bass and percussion; Ron DiSilvestro on drums; Isaac Stanford on pedal steel; Adam Monaco on mandolin; and David Streim (Amos Lee) on piano.
The video was produced by the Kwait Brothers with videography by Jenny Profy, and editing and mixing by Rob Kwait. It was shot in July 2022 near The Bee House on Taughannock Creek (Trumansburg, NY). “In the open spaces on the run…” sets the stage for this fluid, expansive song that lives up to its name as a celebratory ode to our greatest benefactor. Delicious, jammy guitar and banjo grooves at an easy mid tempo.
“Everybody Loves the Sun” started with the main lick of the song and the title and was built from there. We recorded most of the song on a demo that we planned to use for the final version but we dropped the hard drive and lost it all.. had to start over. Like many of our songs, there’s a dichotomy of hope and doom. Sun is beautiful but it always falls down.. gives way to darkness. Add a character thinking about a girl he knew up near Cortland, NY and you have a nice little song. — Cabin Dogs
