The Bodega Brovas are gearing up for the drop of their new album L.G.A. (Loaded Guns & Alcohol), produced entirely by Picnictyme of Erykah Badu’s Cannabinoids and they've just released the first single from the upcoming project, "The Freshest Facade" ft. Astronautalis that made its premiere yesterday on HipHopDX and Dash Radio. The concept behind the single and video for "The Freshest Facade" is focused on the idea that hip-hop has built up an outward image of having a lavish lifestyle and how artists battle with the pressures to be flashy and over-the-top, when in reality many of them are trying so hard to conceal a less extravagant reality.
Dubbed "The Beastie Boys of the new millennium," by AllHipHop.com, the Bodega Brovas (www.bodegabrovas.com) are an indie Hip-Hop group composed of three emcees hailing from various parts of the country who all have their hands in different projects. Although each of the Bodega Brovas have their own passions, they have two things in common. They believe in Hip Hop, and they believe that fun should always be a priority. Attend a Bodega Brovas show and watch them involve the entire audience, allowing them to let loose and have a good time. Much like a bodega, their diverse product caters to all types, which has led them to spend the better part of the last 5 years touring across the US and Europe. Whether they’re on tour or at home working on new music, Headkrack, Keynote, and Travii continue to support real Hip Hop while making their listeners continue to Believe In Bodega.

First up to bat are a trio that AllHipHop.com has been reporting on for a few years now and they made our Top 50 Underground lists of the last two years! We’ve dubbed them the “Beastie Boys Of The New Millennium” and not for nothin! The Bodega Brovas are complete energy on stage and on wax and they show in every performance why they deserve to be some of the next to blow. Their act is pure polish and they are some of the last showman in the genera. The Brovas are clever, lyrical and able to fill the void that has been missing with Hip Hop groups for quite a while now. - AllHipHop

With a sound reminiscent of the Beastie Boys and Run-DMC, it’s still difficult to categorize what Bodega Brovas executes on their much anticipated second EP, Believe in Bodega. A superhero comic fan/thriller movie buff’s hip hop dream, Believe in Bodega is a unique body of work that is dichotomously before and after it’s time. At a period in hip hop where its’ noble origins seem misplaced; Headkrack, Keynote and Travii convey captivating stories through clever wordplay and dynamic imagery. “If you are one-dimensional, you will enjoy this scenic view.” Touché. It’s a view that isn’t drenched in excess materialism and misogyny or muddled with unnecessary stories of violence to affirm masculinity. Simply put, the EP is refreshing and provoking at the same damn time.
Masterfully crafted and assembled, the shining star of Believe in Bodega has to be “Book of Eli.” It’s gritty and raw yet soulful. “Bout That Life” and “Sucker Punch” are strong contenders, but the creative concept behind “Book of Eli” propels the track into its own category. Picking favorites are for children: Believe in Bodega offers humanistic stories about aspirations and the grind that are easily relatable.
From a production standpoint Bodega Brovas spreads the love around: the EP features six different producers but manages to maintain a consistent sound. In a time where super producers such as Mike Will Made It and DJ Khaled are reigning, artists often struggle with defining and preserving their sound on producer heavy tracks. Bodega Brovas avoids this pitfall by choosing what appears to be carefully handpicked beats and layering it with purposeful lyrics and captivating stories.
It will be interesting to see how Bodega Brovas evolves as a group and pushes the synergistic boundaries of how they lyrically interact on records. So, if “you’re like a virgin in his 30’s and tired of being jerked” by mainstream rap, it’s time join the movement and declare “I Believe in Bodega”. - Raw Radio One
Travii, Headkrack and Keynote deliver a head nodding, dope, boom bap record for the masses to rock to. The group bum rushes a local convenience store and walk through spitting lyrics while acknowledging those inside. The video is in black and white and though the track seems it may be French do in part to the title, as the information in the YouTube video suggests, no worries its all in English. Keynote opens the track, spitting punch lines such as, “F’ing with Bodega could be fatal and wreck your life like a wife that’s mentally unstable”; and “Everyday is like prom with the breeze on my arm”. Headkrack, after stating “Its dinner time. Eat the cake and then I’m taking the crumbs”, you can hear the banter between the fellas going back and forth about a “Drake Cake” that was not purchased on the original run to the store. Travii as he walks through searching for the “Drake Cake” he gives knowledge and warns, “Step outside the frame go more for local fame”. The track is ill and the video was a quick impromptu of what the group has to offer. Find out if Headkrack gets his “Drake Cake”, but most importantly peep an incredible song. - Too Fresh Productions

Bio
“Three emcees from various parts of the country went to the same party one night, got cool, and started working
on music together.” Together, these three emcees created The Bodega Brovas.
Headkrack, the black Bronx born emcee delivers his new school rhymes with an old school flow. His day jobs as
co-host of both the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show, as well as FOX TV’s top-rated talk show,
Dish Nation, allow him to flex his entertainment muscles when he’s off the stage. Meshing his day job with his
passion of emceeing, Headkrack regularly premiers Bodega Brovas music on the airwaves.
Keynote, the Dallas based Latino, spent 11 years hosting the #1 night time radio show in Dallas on “The Beat”.
Now, Keynote spends his time focusing his talents on entertaining the masses through music. His comedic and
sometimes shocking lyrics delivered in double time raps keeps The Bodega Brovas fans on their toes.
Travii, hailing from Chicago, is the white guy of the group. His 17 years of experience in publicity and marketing
haven’t stopped him from voicing his anti-establishment viewpoints. With rhymes that make you think, Travii
brings a refreshingly candid element to the group.
Although each of the Bodega Brovas have their own passions, they have two things in common. They believe in
Hip Hop, and they believe that fun should always be a priority. Attend a Bodega Brovas show and watch them
involve the entire audience, allowing them to let loose and have a good time. Much like a bodega, their diverse
product caters to all types, which has led them to spend the better part of the last 5 years touring across the US
and Europe. Whether they’re on tour or at home working on new music, Headkrack, Keynote, and Travii continue
to support real Hip Hop while making their listeners continue to Believe In Bodega.
