Dallas, TX - Rebellion. The one word that can completely define the culture and young hip-hop duo known as Yung Nation. The two 19 year olds (B. Reed & Fooly Faime) have taken the internet, streets and industry by storm in just a short couple of months. For 3 years the teens have spent their high school careers commanding a legion of die hard fans that has recently amassed into a full fledge cult following. Their previous singles 'Club Rock' and 'Pimp' have millions of YouTube views and were both regional hits and are still growing on a national scale.
Their recent official single 'Shawty Wassup' which earned them a deal with E1 Music, is spreading quickly online via 100s of dance videos called 'skitzing', which is a part of the Yung Nation culture. The single can be found on their most recent mixtape, Yung Nation University 2 (YNU 2), featured on LiveMixtapes. YNU 2 made a big splash by trending in Texas on Twitter and cracking over 150K mixtape views in a day. The mixtape is hosted by famed mixtape DJs: DJ Smallz, DJ Scream and DJ Alo.
Also Yung Nation will release their latest LP entitled Yung Nation Forever on Datpiff.com and Apple Music on 10.29.2015
Yung Nation continually spreads throughout the US by doing shows and small tours in markets where their fans hail. Their respect for undeniable performers was gained at SXSW 2013 where Yung Nation ripped down 6 stages. Their official SXSW Showcase performance placed them on SPIN Magazine's 'Top 50 Things We Saw At SXSW'. The Yung Nation culture is fresh, young and of its own. Yung Nation is a 19 year old hip-hop duo from Dallas, Texas formed by Brandon Reed (B. Reed) and Kendall Johnson (Lil Faime). Yung Nation’s energy, creative rhyme scheme, unpredictable flow, and their indefinable vocabulary have gained the duo a loyal and growing following. Yung Nation has formed what is rarely seen in today’s hip-hop world, a culture. The “Yung Nation” movement is quickly spreading across the nation through the internet. Youths across the globe upload thousands of videos, adding up to over a million views dancing to Yung Nation’s music. B. Reed and Lil Faime are regarded as hip-hop’s next big internet sensation to reach a mainstream audience.
In B Reed's youth, he would spend time in both Louisiana and Texas with his family. Not only was B. Reed into music but he also played basketball. After pick up games he would meet up with classmate and childhood friend Lil Twist (Young Money Artist) on the playgrounds basketball court for an occasional rap battle. At 11, B. Reed met Lil Faime through basketball, both being on the same team. After winning a youth championship game they spit two freestyles, which drove their teammates crazy.
Lil Faime also being a Dallas and Louisiana native, Lil Faime shared many of the same characteristics as B. Reed both showing dedication to basketball and music.
In 2013 They signed a production deal with Dallas based music Producer LeQuinston Smith "QSmithOnTheBeat" and his production company Digital University . Shortly after they then signed a single deal for the song "Shawty Wassup" with Entertainement One .
B. Reed and Lil Faime grew in popularity at an early age as members of a popular Dallas hip-hop click, Thugboss Nation. Thugboss Nation is a collective group of artists and within their time with Thugboss Nation, the duo gained many of the loyal followers they have today. The duo decided to venture off on and formed Yung Nation.
