Starting out the evening at 9 p.m. (and featured on today’s AMM) is progressive psych-rock poetry in motion, Yuma. A most refreshing and unique musical experience in the scene – and full disclosure, this shining review comes fresh from witnessing their magic at The Good Music Club‘s recent Free Week taping at Spider House Ballroom. - KUTX 98.9
Yuma headlined Sunday night, the four piece fronted by lead man Jesse Liberty, whose vocals reminded me of Incubus’ Brandon Boyd. Go figure. Anyways, the band as a whole has a driving psychedelia akin to Grizzly Bear and Radiohead whose pop sensibilities are maintained despite large amounts of effect processing and progressive uses of traditional and non-traditional instrumentation. His sideways Elvis-microphone had a nice touch of reverb and compression that lifted his soaring vocals. Occasional noisy freakouts made them the loudest band of the evening and righteous headliners to close out the night of facepaint, trenchcoats, and skeleton faces. - Pop Press International
Looks like this year’s going to be a great one for Yuma. The band has already released one new track, with this fresh number sure to stop you in your tracks. “Loglo” is the name of the tune, and it’s likely to be one of the best pop tracks to come out of Austin this year. You’ll hear a nice groove crafting a playful atmosphere, and the vocals add to that effect, making it the perfect jam for your pre-summer parties. To celebrate the release of this new single, which you can grab HERE, the band will be playing an incredible show at Blackheart on Saturday night. - Austin Town Hall

Bio
YUMA is an original seven piece R&B/Pop group from Austin, Texas. Known for their engaging live performances, the blog Another Great Performance says "Yuma provided a sound and fun energy onstage that infected the crowd. You can't help it when you see the band having so much fun."
The band initially came together in 2011 after a series of fruitful Craigslist-fueled meetings, and has since expanded to include several of the members' good friends. Yuma's sound has likewise undergone several metamorphoses, with the recent addition of trumpet and saxophone rounding out the band's most soulful and catchy tunes to date.
After having released two EPs and several singles over the last few years, Yuma is teaming up with producer Mark DuFour (Ghostland Observatory, Love Spit Love) for their next EP, scheduled for a mid-2017 release.
Yuma has been featured on KUTX 98.9 Austin and KTSW 89.9 San Marcos.
