Young Johnny Apple, (Formerly Word Man), the nationally known recording artist, has won national song writting competitions, performed with many of the top industry artists, recording several albums, featuring on several television programs, and partnered with prominent organizations to support youth across America and Africa! So who is Young Johnny Apple exactly?
Young Johnny Apple, born William Thompson, is an inspirational singer/rapper from Akron, OH. His music is original and always delivers a positive message. Compared often to greats such as R. Kelly, John Legend, and Canton Jones. He has performed in cities all across the country. He has performed in front of numerous celebrities and maintains an outstanding performance every time.
He began writing music at the age of 7. Young Johnny Apple had his first performance at an amateur Apollo event and received a standing ovation. Since, he has carried the determination to give a great performance no matter the circumstance. He has never cancelled an engagement and has performed under trying conditions including an outdoor performance in the rain. His dedication to his fans surpasses most within the current industry.
He won the Nationwide Hottest New Artist competion as Word Man and is now headed to become the next sensation in the music industry. Several songs on the CD titled My Life In HD were the songs used to gain victory in the competition over all the other competitors. Songs such as ''Fly Str8'' and Next To Me'' rattled the industry and got the attention of A&R representatives throughout the business. ''My Life In HD'' was his first release as Word Man in 2010. 2010 continued to be a great year for Word Man as he was featured on television programming and radio interviews which highlighted his 2010 release, "My Life In HD."
In 2011, Word Man was featured on the One Love Cruise in April where he opened for Canton Jones and joined a host of other well known Gospel recording artists. He has since began working with organizations such as Empty Vessel Ministry where he serves as an advocate for at-risk youth. He was also featured on TBN's Praise the Lord Program in September of 2011. Word Man will again be featured on the 2012 One Love Cruise as Young Johnny Apple in March of 2012.
At the start of the year in 2012, Word Man made the complete transition to be now reffered to as Young Johnny Apple. When out of the studio, Young Johnny Apple can be found serving at the Mountain of the Lord Fellowship in Akron, OH. He spends time working with the youth through music and ministering in spoken word in local area churches. He also ministers in music nationwide on a normal basis. Young Johnny Apple is dedicated to the ministry of the gospel and carries a testimony of the goodness of God everywhere he goes!
