Young Animal

YOUNG ANIMAL is the product of a vision to bring rock music back to the forefront once again by integrating elements from several genres in a fresh and exciting way. The music features danceable rhythms, virtuosic instrumental sections, and vocals that range from soothing and melodic to intense and engaging.

Young Animal was formed in NYC in 2010, yet the music has been a decade in the making. When Richard Pinero (vocals/guitar) and Scott Unverzagt (guitar) came together to create Young Animal, they were already quite familiar with one another, having been best friends since grade school. They spent several years collaborating, composing and perfecting their sound. After several line-up changes, Richard and Scott combined forces with Heather Swift, a hard-hitting female drummer from Boston, Massachusetts. The current line-up hit the NYC rock scene in 2011 and is working hard to push the band forward.

Young Animal completed their first full length LP entitled 'Artifact' which has received thousands of hits since the free internet release in 2010. The band produced a second album entitled Meridan, which was released in March 2012 on itunes, amazon, bandcamp and various social media sites. The band has been touring the NYC area, performing at many noteworthy establishments such as the Bitter End, the Knitting Factory and Sullivan Hall.
