YIP YOPS's 2016 release of its debut EP will be one of the most innovative sonic experiences to hit Alternative music. Jaded Culture writes "It’s the type of album that tickles your soul days after your first listen." "This is the type of album that will make you either dance along, or sit quietly while you reflect and analyze your life. It’s truly a delicious experience!" The unique original fusion of Alternative musical sounds from the 80’s mixed with today’s electronic sounds will be one for the charts as the Band seeks to create its own music genre. Soundscape magazine writes, “There isn’t a lot of music out there right now that sounds as original as this.” Producing the record is Multi-Platinum, Diamond Certified and Oscar and Grammy-nominated Ronnie King (2pac, Mariah Carey, The Offspring, Rancid, Snoop Dogg) as he brings out the best in the band’s many musical talents. New Sick Music credits “Sugar” and “Cure for Curiosity” as album highlights, although songs like "Color on the Run" is reminiscent of the 1980's Rock sound, mixed with elements of electronic music. The record will be available in summer 2016, with tour dates and music videos to follow.

The YIP YOPS hail from California’s Coachella Valley, birthplace of the mega festival, COACHELLA.  Inspired by the alternative rock movement, this band has uniquely developed a style of their own, adding a heavy electronic sound to alternative songs. In writing about the band, Chris Aspromonte of Casulin describes "an incredible high energy sound that cannot be easily replicated. This is a blend of genres that is unique to YIP YOPS and cannot be heard anywhere else at the moment." Lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Ison Van Winkle, brings a deep, raw tone to the songs reminiscent of Depeche Mode's David Gahan, INXS's Michael Hutchins, and other 80’s sounds.  This is astonishingly innovative since the band members were born nearly two-decades later! Co-lead singer Mari Brossfield lends a nice melodic female touch, making their music diverse from a typical alternative band. Jacob Guiterrez leads on bass guitar as a bassist for the future, hitting a thumping sound that makes the floors shake. The drummer, Ross Murakami, keeps things interesting with his off-beat rhythms that provide the backbone to their sound.  Keyboards also fill the band’s music as Ison and Mari both play on several synthesizers during the songs. The band’s high-energy live show is a must see, packed with sheer power as Ison’s performance as the front man has been described as a "Mad Scientist".
