Yellowcake

Diversity is the key ingredient to the Yellowcake sound. With music that transcends culture, style and language, this NYC band is putting a global pulse on the city's music scene. Yellowcake officially formed in 2009 and today is a group of seven individuals who share a passion for creating original music that draws on their different backgrounds and musical influences.

The voices of Bridget Morrissey and Caroline Vilela are at the core of Yellowcake's sound. Caroline, a trained actress with a background in musical theater, explores her Brazilian and Nicaraguan heritage and melds it with lounge, trip-hop, and jazz. Bridget brings her upfront, high energy, soul-filled voice to add elements of funk, rock, and hip-hop. The remaining members of the band have decades of combined music experience that spans dozens of genres and styles from around the world.

From the cross-genre melding of Latin rhythms with funk grooves to the group’s unique combination of musicians, you never know what you might see, hear, or feel at a live show. Yellowcake’s "kitchen sink" attitude to music has generated a lot of interest and every week sees more and more activity on their web presence.
