YA NO CASINO are four urban sad boys from the same side of the suburbs. Taking influence from The Weakerthans, Pixies, Fugazi and Harveys 2-for-1 meal deals, the foursome play a chunky blend of indie rock and weirdo punk. Songwriters Alex Hanson and Brent Vipond pen tunes about mental illness, nonsensical love and the broken promise of adulthood. Drummer/academic Tom Piekarski rips the kit with the heaviest beats in pop punk, while lead guitarist Anthony Robert lays out bright and fuzzy washes over the swells of each song. As four misfits playing indie rock, YA NO CASINO plays earnest songs with a feeling that's sure to be familiar to any weirdo with a bad brain and an eager heart.
